Re: Is Flow to AC over?
Since the MEC still hasn’t grieved the flow issue and the process is monitored quarterly, why the F wasn’t this dealt with last year? Before 300 Jazz pilots got screwed. Great to see how many WJ/encore pilots going over taking Jazz spots. Are you a Jazz pilot? You had the opportunity to file a grie...

Re: bumping first class passengers for deadhead crew
First of all, you were not booked in First Class. Air Canada hasn’t sold a First Class ticket in over 25 years. As well noted above, Captains, First Officers and Augment First Officers are contractually given a Business Class seat when DeadHeading. RPs in Economy, pending space in Business or Premi...

Re: New pay scales
I asked to provide an example of a MAJOR in canada that hires 250 hour CPLs. Wasaya and Perimeter are not majors. Unless your definition is different than mine. Again, I could be mistaken... That's why I asked for an example. "I'd say most nothern carriers dont even do that in turboprops." no, but ...

Re: New pay scales
I agree that FO pay should be 100K to start. That puts it at roughly 2/3 of first year captain pay which I think is fair given the responsibilities and requirements of the job. AC first year pay should double but I doubt we will see that. Agreed on both, pay needs to come up commensurate with exper...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair
It's easy to research and you'll find that Flair only leases 25% of their aircraft from 777 Partners but hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good (AC, WJ fuelled) story. Some of you haters posting here need to get a life. Image if the government shuts down an airline for not taking their NOT...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair
my opinion: This will go away, likely quietly. It's a bad look for the CTA to suspend Flair's AOC, thus eliminating (even for a short time) all of those jobs. It's also a bad look that they did not investigate this sooner - 777 has been involved with Flair for quite some time, and I believe held bo...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair
I mean Jetlines did the exact same thing and nobody batted an eye, they literally got an exemption to go around foreign ownership rules to bring operations… “ In June 2016 the airline announced that it had asked the Canadian government to relax its legal requirement for Canadian airlines to have no ...

Re: Best guess when hiring will happen
anyone know if they'll honour the database for those who were in the hiring process in March 2020? I know they're not obligated to but curious for some insight. Did up to the medical and was waiting for the pool call .

Re: Payment when in regional or main line airlines
The bigger carriers Encore, Jazz, Porter will pay for your type ratings, but smaller carriers such as Wasaya, Bearskin, Perimeter will bond you for 1-1.5 years from bonds ranging from 10k to 15k depending on which 704 or 705 machines you fly.

Re: Wasaya
Wasaya is still running with 1/3 of its pilots. 4 have been recalled onto the dash as loads are slowly picking up, but lots of people still displaced and laid off. Anxiously waiting for the recall as the lay-off becomes permanent next month. There are a lot of people qualified internally and have ap...

Re: Jazz pilot interview tips?
Bro you ain't gonna be interviewing for a while at Jazz. Have you not been following the mass layoffs at Sunwing, Porter, WestJet, PasCo, and soon to be Air Transat? Jazz isn't much farther behind. I understand bro. It's not the interview for a job right away. Bro your job probably won’t exist anym...
