Re: OT opportunities?
I didn't know picking it up was looked down upon right now. I agree that helping out the pilot group at this time is more worthwhile than short-term gain. Hopefully the new contract would be enough that one wouldn't need OT or picking up a 2nd job to get by Isn't the plan to add at least another 120...

OT opportunities?
Hello. I'm considering AC vs some other options. I was initially leaning towards AC but now have become doubtful due to just how far back they are in terms of pay vs every one else and how much one would have to struggle the first year. The only way i see surviving on $58k in a big city is picking u...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Hi all, Email invitations are now going out to OTS for interviews in March for April ground school starts. Would it really be that soon after??? I thought the wait time post interview to hear back was around 4 months. So if you interview March shouldn't you expect to start during the summer? If suc...

Re: New pay scale Aug 1 Dash and E2
Why is everyone assuming that AC won't be effected by this?? Y5 captain on the E2 makes more than an AC captain. At AC it takes you much much longer to be sitting on the left seat, and even once you get there a porter captain will be set to make more than you in a few years. And much more than you b...

Can you people stop pming eachother this kind of info? It should be posted out in the open so everyone can see to decide or form an opinion. By keeping things secret, you're really only just helping the company and not helping your fellow pilots

Re: PASCO’s Constant Job Ads
Thanks for posting the above information Dronepiper. This is a great thread and very informative for guys and gals pursuing flying jobs at 703 operators. PS. If anyone has current salary/schedule info for Thunder Airlines could you please share or send me a private message. Thanks. They start off a...

Re: PASCO’s Constant Job Ads
Here So you dug around for payscales much higher than average and still couldn't show us that any of them are "over $65000". The closest you came was missinipi (possibly the highest paying 703 the country) where under certain conditions (flying medevac) you can reach the peak canadian 703 FO of 650...

Re: PASCO’s Constant Job Ads
#1 Low paying operators tend to crash more. Experienced pilots leave and novices are left trying to fly a Saab safely in the mountains. Many 703 operators who don't post every day on Avcanada are paying direct entry captains $140,000 base salary, add in mileage pay, vacation pay, and per diems and ...

Despite the wokeism and mild cringe, I kind of like this show.... I think it's because there is nothing else out there which relates as much to the world of a canadian pilot. What's strange though is that they and cater so much to the aviation crowd that regular people might get turned off from the ...

I don't know about the soil part, but they certainly don't need it when airborne on N registered aircrafts. Even if they took off from ottawa
Regardless, the guy is just being a dick

Re: Private Training or Confederation College
Actually, you can get some sort of grants/loans doing it privately. But it all starts after you complete PPL. And assuming you're in Ontario, the private school has to be registered as a private career college (most of them are)

Re: Cessna Pilot Scam
I got the same reply from that ad and thought it was insane. I first thought it was some indian scam but this person clearly understands quite a bit about how our aviation market is laid out so I think they're not in a foreign country. Is there a way to find out this person's name if you attempt to ...

Re: Advice for a 30 year old
Do you "WannaBushPilot"? If so then having a degree isn't going to hold you back. Hard work and being a good person is what will set you apart in the bush world. I can't speak for the airlines but I hear having a degree can help set people apart, but again I'm not in that side of the industry. I wo...
