Re: The Ol' PFO

I overheard a rumor that for express candidates if references were called it usually means a job offer is coming in the next few weeks. Have you heard back yet? I’ve been waiting over 4 months and they called my references two weeks ago. I know guys waiting since July/august... No news at all excep...

Re: will AC take non ac express pilots?

Why would a CRJ/175 CA not be qualified to sit in the right seat of a WB? Because of their competencies: when you fly WB you loose your flying skills; it’s easy flying and you perform 2 ILS aproaches and 2 landings per month: you don’t know how to fly an aircraft anymore. It’s a great strategic dec...

Re: PICUS at Encore

Minor Correction :)......ALMOST any Captain can do it. It has to be a Captain who has completed their first recurrent after qualifying as Captain. So pretty much all Captains can do it. Any captains can do PICUS. That being said, back when I worked at Encore, not every captains agreed to-do it as i...

Re: PICUS at Encore

Any captains can do PICUS. That being said, back when I worked at Encore, not every captains agreed to-do it as it was unpaid and there was no incentive to do it. Helping the company while they ask captains to do more for less is a growing concern at Encore. But to answer your question, yes PICUS is...

They don't pfo you after 4 months? Lots of guys and girls (?) waiting since mid summer with no news other than "be patient, we will let you know once we make a decision". Seems to me that some might be PFOed after 4 months.

Re: Swoop Terrain Warning

If you want to improve the industry working conditions and pay, you don't go to Swoop, period. Swoop should have been fought to be kept under the WJ contract but you can't do that if you have "idiots" (I could use many other words) that are willing to step on everyone in order to get a couple extra ...

Re: Swoop Terrain Warning

Looks like he goes from captain position to captain positions... Looks like Captainitus to me... And never went to any major with all this experience. It's okay, he will Swoop his way to WestJet... but not before being bypassed by ALL Encore pilots. I have a feeling he might change company soon.

Re: Hiring process - next steps

3 Weeks isn't too long. I would wait until January 6th. If by then you still haven't heard anything, shoot them an Email. Also, as of now they want candidate to have a minimum of 1000h. If you have 1000h by January 6th, make sure to include it in your Email.

Good luck.

It was 4 months for me to get the PFO. The email was gently worded. It was more of not now, but maybe later.
4 months??!!!

Re: Hiring outlook

This business about the FO's only working about 12 days a month at YYZ, is that a pretty usual thing or just a short term thing? That sounds like a nice lifestyle. It's a short term thing. Side effect of the shortage of captains. With the AC hiring, fatigue rules and duty rigs coming up soon. I don...

Re: One List

Once again, I don't have an issue with flow, but to transfer ones DOH from a regional to a mainline is not only contrary to industry standard, it's counterproductive. Look at the mess it's already created. I hope those who pushed for this one-list concept in the beginning, now have enough humility ...

Re: One List

I love when mainline pilots talk about the entitlement of Encore pilots. When they got hired they were told by company, their mainline peers, etc... That there was a one list and that after a few years they will flow to mainline with their seniority attached to it. Back then it was the only way to g...

Re: Hiring outlook

What's the flow speed now ? Still 3 years and 1 month for a brand new FO ? I think the 5+ years flow is more realistic. 80 pilots flowed in 2017. I believe it was less in 2018. It will likely be the same or less in 2019. I would go with 70 pilots per year.....equals well over 5 years. As the previo...

Re: Yul LNAV 06L

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate. Any chance we could relay this info to the airlines so that we as pilots get a document allowing us to shoot the lnav 06L and therefor avoid confusions and backlog? Cause unless we get that, the only info we get us to not do the approach. (We have no idea that you...

Yul LNAV 06L

Hi Yul atc, Quick question for you. On the jeppesen plate it clearly says in the note that we cannot shoot an rnav lnav approach onto 06l of simultaneous approach are in progress. Since the lpv and lnav/Vnav are notamed anybody who read their plate has to deny the rnav 06L approach. Many aircraft in...

You don't even work at encore and you are giving advice or info on the pay? Sounds legit. Why you so mad bro? To the OP you are looking at 100g gross pay first year all in. I used to work there so... yeah...legit. As for 100k... no way unless you do line indoc + pick up quite a bit of overtime whic...
