Wow! Thank you so much Just Duckie. I was fortunate enough to fly that magnificent machine and really wanted the print on my wall for the memories. Will order it VERY soon!
Thanks again.
Hi anyone and everyone, A few years ago I saw a limited edition print ( I think) of a Conair DC-6 dropping a load of retardant. Tail 46 perhaps if I recall correctly and it was hanging in the Forestry Base ready room at the Fort McMurray airport. If anyone knows the artist and where they could be fo...
Reserving judgment for a month or two. Between Jan 31 and Feb 16 I have exactly two days off..... 5 on, 1 off, 5 on, 1 off, five on....then the rest of the month off. I did bid 4 or 5 day pairings but being so clumped at the beginning of the month with so little time off between..well...no likie. Al...
Well, I am no doctor so that should be made clear up front, however... It has been my experience that on average, a Cat 1 Medical is not a very thorough measure of ones health, so yes I could see the 1% thing being no too far off. There are some things of course that will sink the ship like being co...
Might be time for the feds to put their money where their mouth is and spend some coin on charting our waters! A big spill isn't the kind of press we need if we are trying to convince the world that the Arctic Archipelago is ours... Do I recall that you can chart shallow water with an overflying air...
If you are looking for some skis then check out Kehler Ski Manufacturing at http://www.kehlerski.com There is a C206 operating in your neck of the woods on Kehler Skis and as far as I know they are very happy with them. On the bottom right of the Kehler Ski home page there is a link to the KSM Broch...
That should be typeset, printed, bound and on a store shelf somewhere! I would seriously buy a book full of that dribble I fly the mighty 8 as well and can relate but clearly not with as much style
Does anyone have the info on the memorial for Brian? I thought I saw in a newspaper that it was Aug 14 but not sure on that or where. I used to work at Conair but didn't know him. I just feel like I would like to go and show support.

If people can use their cell phones on a plane, I want to be able to smoke on the plane again. Talk about annoying, that's all you need is 150 people talking on their bluedouche headsets for the entirety of the trip. I find the people who switch on their phones and start checking their emails befor...
While STAR's provides a useful service, it should be noted that they also use aircraft that have rather short range. So the critical patient being flown out of say Kirby or somewhere similar isn't going to get helped by our rotor wing friends. We live in a big province and there will be a need for f...
The 18 days a month is the most you will/can get posted. I have rarely worked 18, I'd have to say my average is closer to 15 or 14. Deadhead days to YZF or YFB count as well so of the 15 you might be actually flying more like 11. All quite variable of course!
Well, it would seem that this lead has gone silent. With 2AG advertising directly here on avcanada it looks like things have changed. Makes me wonder, ACASS and Wentworth both advertised for the same positions. Now the company is looking for themselves.......... Good luck to whoever gets a run at th...
They wrote and requested confirmation of hours etc. Said I should hear in a couple days at most. Still don't have any details on the gig so it would appear that only those in the final selection will find out anything. In context, Gabon looks like a pretty decent place. There are a lot worse places ...
I think Ray-Ban got it. I will add just one thing. I flew a B200/1300 for a few years. They were never certified with autopilots and would have been limited too 17K without a yaw damper. The 1300 model had extra large strakes which eliminated the need for the yaw damper and was fairly stable up to i...
