Re: One controllers likes and dislikes. Ask about your plane.

Well actually I think most British accidents (Opps I mean accents) sound quite stupid; even if they are saying something that is actually quite intelligent. Really? Most people I meet over here say "I just lurrrrrve your accent". Hmmm, actually it's just the ladies who say that. Maybe that's why yo...

Re: Can anyone suggest a job to suit my UK ATC experience?

Bubble, note that for either ATC or FSS (not sure about ATOS, but probably that as well) you must be a Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status. Actually that's not strictly true. A work permit will suffice but Nav Can will have to get approval through the CIC. That's how us foreign ATC's g...

Then again quite a few Canucks and Yanks have told me (a Brit) how wonderful my Australian accent is :!:

"People need to understand the impact of their lifestyles," British environmental consultant Joanna Yarrow tells New Scientist magazine. Don't the Brits drink warm beer? I don't think it's right for any Brit to be telling us how to run our country . They did that for 100 years and look where that g...

The towers really aren't that important, no controllers, no departures and no ground traffic departing. It'd be a mess on the ground and a lot of diversions but it'd be very unlikely anyone would die if a tower blew up. Gibberish. Hard to work out the point you're trying to make. Care to re-write?

Waaaah! Waaaah!

Passenger comfort isn't part of our brief. Tell the controller you can't expedite descent next time - give the reason why (hurt your ears too wouldn't it?).

You can refuse a clearance if you feel it compromises the safety of your aircraft but of course you knew that....right???

It's not Soccer, it's Football . It's only referred to as Soccer in US/Canada to avoid confusion with err..Football. A game played with the hands not the feet.....riiight. Outside of the US and Canada it's the only game in town. You'll never appreciate it properly unless you spent your youth playing...
