Re: Ornge Sikorsky Air ambulance accident Northern Ontario

Chris Snowball's funeral was held today (June 7, 2013). There were approximately 1000 people in attendance to pay their final fairwells to Chris. A lot of tears, some laughter, and a lot of self reflection in evidence. A very moving eulogy by Chris's Ornge and former Wabusk collegue, Derek Wharrie, ...

Re: Ornge Sikorsky Air ambulance accident Northern Ontario

Please PM medics' names - my friend and former collegue was working his last shift in YMO before transferring to YQT. Hoping he wasn't on board.

Re: Apps???

More free apps for the iphone: Jet Fueling - pretty useful for simply converting volume to weight, or for calculating max fuel load; touchPlan - good flight planning app. Seems to have all, or at least most Canadian and US airports and navaids, and many waypoints. It suggests that it will upload the...

Elderly US woman lands plane after pilot-husband dies

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-17605770 An 80-year-old US woman with little flying experience has staged an emergency landing in Wisconsin after her pilot husband collapsed and died. Helen Collins remained calm as she brought the small Cessna plane in to land at Cherryland Airport, even...

Re: Work Or Not To Work - Sickness Is The Question.

You won't be flying commercially in Canada with Type I.. Type II requires a shit ton of exemptions and paperwork. Also, wouldn't it be contravening the cars to be operating with a disease or other known ailment that massively weakened the immune system and caused other such troubles? How would one ...

and it does piss the rest of us off too! Especially now that we get any unused sick leaveaid out at retirement at 50%, there are a few people who see staying home sick as costing them money 25 years later! Pathetic! Re: Work Or Not To Work - Sickness Is The Question.

I'm shocked that at this point "coming to work sick because I'm afraid of my reputation" is the most-clicked answer. I guess that for a lot of newly qualified pilots in their first or second flying job, that whole "I'm not worthy" BS is still in their mindset.....but that's a topic that has been "d...

Work Or Not To Work - Sickness Is The Question.

So, what are your views on this? Should you work no matter who else you might infect, or do you stay at home living off Advil and NeoCitran. I'm asking this as I crewed a charter a few weeks ago with a crew member recovering from bronchitis, but who was constantly coughing. We were in the aircraft f...

Re: Bruce Dickinson flying into YWG?????

200 section at MTS centre isn't too bad. It's still lower bowl, we are a section and a half away from the stage. When I took my daughter to Britney Spears we had 300 ( upper deck) tickets and got moved down to the same section. Britney Spears - for that sacrifice you deserve floor tickets and all-a...

Re: Bruce Dickinson flying into YWG?????

Seriously what does a guy have to do to get floor tickets anyway? I finally got through to ticketmaster 4 minutes after the sale supposedly opened and they were already selling the top of the second balcony for $90 a seat! What a joke. I joined the fan club that got me nothing. Did anybody go out a...

AeroWeather App

I've been running AeroWeather Lite on my iPhone 4 for over a year with no problems. However, over the last few days it seems to be very selective as to what aerodromes/airports it will list TAFs for. I've checked for updates - mine is upto date. (version 1.2.7(02)). Even tried to old PC fixit - swit...

Re: Did Iran literally hijack a US stealth drone?

So the US have asked Iran for their misssing Airfix plane back. But the Secrety Of State (Hilary Clinton) doesn't expect Iran to return it. I wonder how long it is before the US is looking to invade Iran on the pretext of looking for atomic powered pocket calculators, plutonium covered protractors a...
