Re: 2014 payrates

70/80=87.5%
39/43.30=89%

Equals approximately 10%

And you are right... A DB pension plan is no comparison. It's so limiting! Especially when you only get 70% of your money out. Ask an old Air BC guy how that works out for your pension planning.

Re: 2014 payrates

Encore rates yr 1 are now $70.91/$38.97 Approximately 10% lower than Jazz. If WJ shares a profit of ~$50 million for 2014/15 these rates will be on par with Jazz. This does not include ESPP which is effectively the pension, which by the way is 100% solvent. Last time I looked the Jazz pension was fu...

Re: Would you work at Encore?

All numbers are from the contract with the exception of profit sharing which will always be unknown.

btw ...ESOP at the Big Boy airline is 20%.

I guess we will see how it plays out.

Re: Would you work at Encore?

I guess the way the formatting looks in preview doesn't really look the same in the postings however you should be able to work it out. Glass Half FULL year: $68/hr multiplied by 90 hrs equals $6120/month. $6120 multiplied by 12 months equals $73440/year. If ESOP equals 10% then employee will earn $...

Re: Would you work at Encore?

This is the math I did. It is OPTIMISTIC! The first couple of months or maybe the whole first year you may be looking at monthly minimums. This is using $68/hr. Monthly Min Month Max Min YEAR MAX YEAR 12 days ESOP @ 10% Profit sharing MAX YR 70 HRS 90 HRS 840 HRS 1080 HRS OT/YR $4,760.00 $6,120.00 $...

Re: 2011 Ground Schools

Remember... if you defer your GS you are also deferring your seniority. Worst case scenario though you could lose upwards of 80 numbers (4 classes in 2 months at 20 pilots/class and assuming you draw last in the 4th GS). Short term monetary gain could turn into long term reserve pain if you end up r...

Re: Interview

I was hired in Feb 2008 with 2200 hrs, 50/50 single/multi, Northern Experience, ATPL, and a degree. Some in my class had more, some had less.

Re: Has anyone got the call??

Floatrrr... I think you're out of line. IMO, 85% of pilots voted for better pay, better per diems, way better pension for the new guys, and improved working conditions. 15% of pilots voted against the contract because they thought the improvements didn't go far enough. I don't know of any JAZZ pilot...

Re: Bose headset parts

I've had my Bose for 2 years. I've sent them to Tel-Air in Quebec twice now, with very good service for exactly the same problem (broken ear piece holder "fork"). I got them back within a week. I didn't buy the insurance. The warranty is good, but its frustrating to have had to send them back TWICE!...

Hmmm...
They just added two captains and an FO this fall, giving them 5 captains (including LB) and 3 FO's for 2 planes... so Tindiguy is going to be number 6?

I think someone is trying to stir the pot...

my two cents
