The search function will be your buddy on this one. I feel that the majority of Canada's survey companies are a lot better than most of the straight aviation organizations (correct me, if needed). Simply for one reason: THEY ARE NOT AVIATION ORGANIZATIONS. Aircraft do a job for them, just like geolo...

I've been trying for quite sometime to get my hands on this documentation. We had it at my university and I was blown away with its thoroughness. Basically I was introduced to it as "If you want to know anything about icing, get with those Canadians". Same went with the Swissair 111 accident as far ...

The last thing I would ever want is an "easy" medical. Holding a pilots license is the last thing on my mind when it comes to my health. I want a doctor who will examine me in great depth to ensure there is nothing medically wrong or going wrong. The only thing I draw the line on is him having a ha...

Ah I just checked those threads, wasn't as bad as I thought, but one's enough. And we'll have more lower time guys doing our jobs than in previous years.

So, let's keep tight out there, regardless.

All the best,

Funny, I was just thinking yesterday...In the absence of any Air Regulation's whatsoever, if they just plain didn't exist, how would I fly, how would I want to conduct myself as a professional? This post is definitely a fair guideline. Nice work.

Let's all slow down here...

A 206 out in BC, followed by a 185, a navajo in Quebec and a coast-guard heli in Newfoundland. Been a bad week. Industry movement is great right now, but is useless if we don't slow down here. Let's tighten up and keep a good eye on eachother. Shit's going to happen, so let's not go out looking for ...

I think if I were hitting Dieppe or the Normandy, I'd want that guy at my side. I am thankful he is still with us. Can we task someone out in BC to keep us notified as per his progress. If he or his family require anything, I would be all for some sort of avcanada aid. best regards, Neil (also, some...

I thought Bearskin's was a pro-rated bond and you get it back with interest at the end of the 2 year period. Please correct me if I am wrong. If we are going to debate this, lets be clear. Some are complaining about paying for training others are saying training bonds. The two are different beasts, ...

IO-520s coming out of overhaul - Break in techniques?

Greetings,

I've got a couple of IO-520s coming out of overhaul soon, does anyone have any good break-in procedures or recommended practices?

Always appreciated!

Perhaps try ERAU. They offer extensive online/distance training and also have a full meteorology degree with an aviation area of concentration (on campus). There might be a course or two for you there.

Aviation Tragedy on the horizon - Moshansky

It isn't getting any easier for anyone who is a proponent for SMS... For anyone that has read the Air Ontario- Dryden Report, I am sure you have a strong respect for Virgil Moshansky. OTTAWA–An aviation tragedy is "on the horizon" because funding cuts at Transport Canada have undermined airline insp...
