Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?
They buy Air Transat. It comes with a bunch of travel company connections. It also comes with a bunch of airplanes and staff. Once AC has it, they can do with it what they like; if they see that integrating everyone into one company is too much trouble (in other words, finding a way not to pay peopl...

My so called aviation career spanned the flat line until 1990. Made me feel better, thanks for posting that.

As Beyond the Fringe said about the RAF during the Blitz: "Can I be one of the few?"
"No, there are too many"

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?
There is nothing a big, dominant corporation hates more than competition. The only difference between those and the small business, is they can afford to do something about it. I always figured if things kept rolling in, why get greedy? Of course, I was just naive, because there is always somebody t...

Re: COVID vaccination advice for Airline crew
As a member of the paying, flying public, I am wary of going on an airplane til this all gets sorted. So industry will not significantly improve until then, because I am fairly certain I am not the only one. If I were told quietly that the pilots had the shot(s), I would be more inclined. TC has to ...

Our market is small, therefore prices are always going to be higher than in the US or the UK for that matter. Add a bit of tax, and as consumers, we are feeling ripped off. Business needs customers, and we never have enough of those. Also, some businesses are protected by Canadian distributors, so w...

Re: Should Canadian airlines stop flights to UK, New covid strain.
It seems to have been forgotten that the only reason all these restrictions are imposed is to stop hospitals from overflowing. I have family that can't get cancer surgery as it is in this country. The only hysterics I see are from pilots in Canada. Maybe I don't get out enough.

Re: Potential Airline Bailout
Called back to fly where? The UK just imposed lockdown again, as one example. We are already paying people to do nothing, which is all we can do, as far as I can see. Having them "back at work" doesn't solve the problem of LACK OF PAYING CUSTOMERS and LACK OF DESTINATIONS.

Against my better judgment, I will respond to the guy who is obviously pretty upset against the very people that pay his salary when they fly. Strange behaviour. As if we do not have choices in how we travel... I am very happy your attitude towards people, is in the minority at the people's airline....

Airport testing seems like a good idea. Where is the data that any scientist has come up with, that does not recommend quarantines? Nobody I know wants to travel. We are all sorry about this, but quarantines etc are not even the deciding factor for me, my friends and family. There is talk of Gatwick...

To Alti, Any company that can afford to buy another competitor like AC is doing with AT, does not need any government subsidies. Do you really think the taxpayer like me will support that? You guys care about yourselves, and life is hard right now, fair enough, but don't expect the rest of us to go ...

At the risk of being pedantic, if you don't like the current crop of politicians, you are able to vote for those who you think will do a better job at election time. I don't care what you think, any more than you care what I think.

Re: Pfizer Covid Vaccine shows 90% effectiveness.
Sitting around with family, or working in a small space, is a lot different than going to a store. The risk is obviously higher in a smaller space, where you spend more than 15 minutes. I for one, am not comfortable potentially infecting my elderly family members, and neither should anyone else be. ...

It is a lottery. You never know when your numbers come up and you get that great job. You won't get it sitting at home, but it won't be easy either. The regionals are, and always have been, extremely picky about who they want, regardless of what people say.

I would have done it if I had had the money, but I didn't. The guys who went to Aviation College all did very well for themselves in the flying world, while I floundered on my own, scrounging flying jobs where I could. Can you tolerate classrooms with 18 year old kids? How patient are you? If you wa...

Re: Carbon tax announced December 2020
The government is not broke. The government raises taxes because it wants to show us how responsible it is. It in no way needs to raise taxes. It is just another line of bs. The cons are even worse. They don't even raise taxes because they think people already believe them fiscally responsible, whic...
