Re: How backed up is hiring???

Just over $1000 before perdiem and OT is the actual take home. That is why jazz has so many angry FOs. The reason why it’s so low, besides the pay scale, is the insane amount of deductions at the company. Health plan is the most expensive I have ever seen, and it’s extremely difficult to get off of...

They do both

Hello aviators, I looked at their hiring website and they say you can still apply even if you’re not quite at their 750 hours minimum hiring times. Should i put my application with over 600 hours or wait till at least I’m at the 750 minimum hiring times? Thank you Can't get a call if you don't appl...

Excuse my ignorance but what is this parker pen thingy? Is it also known as "fly what you can log what you need" or "log 6h night flights way up north in the summer"?

Re: Flow through to AC

The big question is: what would Jazz pilots get in exchange? The bigger question is what if Jazz pilots gets nothing in exchange? Grievance? That could take years? The even bigger question is: what if reducing the 60% flow is not even being discussed and anyone suggesting it is just going fishing? ...

Re: Flow through to AC

Am I wrong that this os an agreement between AC, JAZZ and ALPA?

Pilots will get something out of the deal if it gets modified. Anyway, just like rudder pointed out, that PML is one of the main reason upgradable pilots apply to Jazz post-covid. This "shortage" is to the advantage of Jazz pilots...

I knew it wasn’t good but it’s that bad??? 11 days off a month and only 85/hr? What’s min guarantee, 80 hours? No thanks lol Just to clarify, contractually it’s 12 guaranteed days off per month on reserve, so a 30 day month it’s 18 res, 19 on a 31 day month. If you hold a block it’s dependent on ho...

Re: So now what? - Post Equipment Bid

Maybe most Canadian airlines will just follow suit to what Sunwing is doing and start making a case to bring in foreign pilots since there are no qualified applicants available. Wouldn't that also be interesting indeed....... The thing is running out of applicants is not the same as running out of ...

Re: So now what? - Post Equipment Bid

I am confused. How does bypass pay work? Shouldn’t you only be awarded a captain position if you meet the experience requirements? If there are no FO’s who can upgrade, then why would hiring a DEC require bypass pay? Bypass pay means if someone below you on the seniority list gets upgrade training ...

Do you consider paying for a benefit as a deduction? Or, do you consider the company portion of any benefit sharing as income? What about pension contribution, do you include that in your income total? If there wasn't a benefits package available through employment, what would you be paying for the...

Re: Min time at Jazz before applying to AC?

Do you need to put in a minimum amount of time at Jazz before you can apply to AC with the flow through? Or could you in theory apply on day 1 of Jazz if you meet the 2000hr ATPL requirements? The flow thing says you need 2 years at Jazz before being eligible for AC. The way I understand it, you ca...

Not under the rules of the current CBA they aren’t. Perhaps there will be an LOU. Perhaps not. The way it was explained to me was to bid captain once the standing bid re opens on Friday. It will be awarded prior to the next ground school, with an effective date after the ground school. Basically ev...

Re: Flow to AC matrix

As far as I know ggn and sky never had a firm commitment in numbers from AC. They certainly took few to none of those pilots in the last few years. Only jazz got that firm commitment with their 17 year deal that started the death of ggn and sky Sky had an agreement very similar to Jazz. 10% instead...

But I think it's fair to say they will need pilots sooner in yul and yyz.
