Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Would it make sense for a Porter E2 captain to leave for AC now considering the new E2 captain pay scales at Porter? It would be almost a $100k pay cut the first year but is it true that the upgrade times on the narrow body at AC are now roughly 2 years? Also looking at the long term benefits since...

Re: Are Air Canada pilots the lowest paid in the world?

Delta has a few new hire 20 something year old 67 captains that make more per hour than the #1 pilot at AC (440 CAD after this contract signing). Just let that sink in... This doesn’t have to “sink in”. The US/Canada disparity of wages is something of which most Air Canada pilots have been aware fo...

Never too old. Make the move, as you'll still be far happier here than anywhere else in Canada.

I would recommend to go as quick as possible to get yourself to a position where you are competitive. You want to get in before the wave goes

Re: United, Delta or American?

In terms of choice (if you have one), I’d lean towards AA or UAL just because they have a lot of seniority movement. 10000 pilots being hired in the next 10 years by each carrier, whereas I think Delta has around 6000 to go. Another very important factor is where you want to live. I think Delta has...

Ripplerock, You seem painfully out of touch with the majority of your Voting brethren. You come on this forum to vent and pontificate to a handful of like minded souls yet literally nothing will be gained here other than a few “attaboys” from said posters. Nothing you propose here will ever make it...

Re: Interest in US airline positions

So I have reached out to a few immigration lawyers in the US over the past few weeks as I had the same idea as Dan in trying to get a visa to work in the US. Most of the lawyers who I reached out to work on a basis where they won't take on a case unless they are fairly certain that they can win it ...

Re: Interest in US airline positions

Don't fall for this scam. The EB-2 visa has and will never apply to pilot positions. There is a website circulating, which is poorly written and full of spelling mistakes that is promoting this. They will make you pay the lawyer fees, which are upwards of $30,000, take your money and you will never...

Re: Interest in US airline positions

Hello to all guys and gals working at 705's. There has been a recent development to the American EB-2 Visa criteria for airline pilots. There is now a NIW, National Interest Waiver, in force, which relaxes some of the requirements for a Visa or Labour Condition Application, which would have previou...

Re: will AC take non ac express pilots?

They are looking for airline and overseas experienced guys to fill widebody right seats. If the starting pay was increased, they would get dozens of corporate jet guys with lots of overseas experience. And those that stayed in corporate would have the benefit of higher pay due to the “pilot shortag...

Class of 14 started yesterday. Only one was OTS from overseas. Rest were express Thanks for the update! Is there going to be a slow down in November and December for the holiday season or will additional classes still be running before the new year? From what I understand 1 class every 3 weeks. Cal...
