Re: New hire bids

Zero yyz :S I would guess that no spots would be available in YYZ for the OTS since those spots should be for GGN pilots... No, not reserved for GGN pilots, the current big bid they are running through has major changes to the YYZ roster, big reductions on Q, being offset by returning RJs and Class...

Importing project from the US

I’m looking at bringing in a partially completed project from the US to Ontario. I’ve already talked to the MD RA and they have no issues. My question is, would the project be subject to duty? Or to GST/HST?

Hiring has slowed down significantly. Initially 400 new hires expected this year, now projecting 150.

Re: New hire bids

Classes will be running every 2 weeks through the summer. You can count on the majority of positions being YUL base. Mostly Q and Dash with the occasional RJ position. Looking for 20 per class.

Re: DE Captains ?

I agree we have no need for DE captains, but we do need to start putting some minimum requirements for going Captain here. I'd personally like to see a potential upgrade candidate have a minimum of 4000 hours, or 4-5 full years at a 705 operator...

Re: Schedules

Really sad when the only PIC time most, I won't say all because I know about 50% of us did it the proper way, pilots are getting is by renting a Cessna and flying it straight and level just watching the hobbs tick up hour by hour. How about before you come to the airlines you get a job where you ac...

Yes we have hired pilots in their 50s before. I don't think it's an issue at all.

Yes they will. Good luck getting any PICUS time though. You have to fly with an LTC for that and they're all tied up training new hires.

Re: GeeBee Z plans?

You can try Kevin Kimball in Florida. He built one that Kermit Weeks has. IF he will sell you plans I'm sure they would cost a small fortune. Here's a post of his from the biplane forum regarding the Model Z. Here's the link as well. http://www.biplaneforum.com/showthread.php?p=112750 The price I se...

Re: Headset for jets

I've used the Seneiser HMEC 45, Bose A20 and Halo. Hands down the Halo is the best and most comfortable headset I've ever owned. I used it on the CRJ for 2 years as well as on the Dash. Just as good noise reduction as the Bose at 1/3 the price.
