High altitude balloon over Sask today... Anyone have info?
En route from YWG to YEG today, about 50nm east of YXE (just south of CJU4, Humboldt) ATC advised us of a balloon in our area, descending at 3000fpm thru 70,000 feet. The next report he said it was just thru 60,000 feet. We never did see it, but gave it a wide berth nonetheless... I've heard of peop...

Blue 49 Heavy callsign...
I heard Blue 49 Heavy on Winnipeg CTR yesterday, talking about escorts and what type of formation, and then he asked if he could connect to ??? uplink. Center responded that he was unable the ??? uplink, but would check with the next sector... Anyone know who Blue 49 Heavy might be? US Military maybe?

Re: ATPL waivers?
altiplano: I would love to have had a job where I could have had some PIC, but it just didn't work out that way. Now I'm at my career job, and I don't want to leave to get some PIC, cause they won't let me come back! Cat Driver: Thanks for your input. Your insight into how TC works is always right o...

Re: ATPL waivers?
Cat Driver, the reason I'm asking is because I've hard of people getting waivers for different things.... All my time is right seat on 2 types over 12,500, so I don't have hardly any of the night pic required. I'm just trying to find a way to avoid having to shell out $$$ to rent a 152 and fly aroun...

ATPL waivers?
I'm curious to hear if anyone has ever applied for a waiver for some of the ATPL requirements.
ie. The 100 night PIC, or the total time because of aircraft types etc...
What was the process?
PM me with the details.

My favorite position report goes like this... We're 30 miles back from somespot.... what f-ing direction is back? How can I tell if you are a conflict? What if I'm 30 miles "back" too? How about 30 miles NORTH of somespot. And VFR pilots should know where VOR's etc are.... just because you are fat d...

9? 8 plus 1? How about 8 prone rest is required by the CARS. It is up to the company to provide a reasonable amount of additional time for personal stuff. Our company gives 11 hours when at home base, and 10 hours while away from base. Can you imagine living in Toronto and only having 9 hours from e...

Wow... James is the Cheif!! I've known James for about 4 and a half years, ( I almost worked for him once) and I have always known him to be a straight shooter, and excellent at what he does. He asked me my favorite interview question of all time... "What is your favorite football team?" "Pfft.. The...

Actually, the X-Box seems pretty popular at CMA... but mine is not in the basement, and this is definately not my Dad's house. (I get to drink the milk straight from the jug!) The wages can't be all that bad since there are a few 200 hour wonders with new 360's! Maybe CMA pilots are just smarter wit...

How about a fund to stop new pilots from whoring themselves out!!! Or how about a fund to stop people from learning to fly in the first place.. "You wanna be a pilot? I'll give you $1000 just to walk away right now and never come back!" Here is the best idea, someone cut me a cheque for my own stoop...

"Experience commensurate with Age" .... what if flying was your second or third career? Maybe the 50yr old with 8000 hours started later in life! Who could ever believe that a pilot with other life experience could be worth as much as some punk who started flying when he was 19, and has 8000 hours b...

Question on this thread... My instrument rating was years ago... I need to write the INRAT again. After I write the INRAT, do I really need to do a renewal at the flight school, or will the instrument renewal / PPC cover it? Seems to me that I should be ok, and I should not hand J Mo any more of my ...
