Re: Diamond Vs Cessna Flight Training
I don't think it matters which you would train in, I would go for the cheaper one.

Re: Traditional flight schools Or College Programs?
You could spend easily 50k if you go pay as you go. Also take a look at confederation college, they're offering a 2 year commercial pilot program for $17k. Not sure if there's a different price for international students but you could call them and find out.

Re: College
I would take a look at confederation college, you get a CPL and it's all substituted. Not to mention you could end up paying for the CPL around $17,000-$20,000 given also you can get OSAP for it.

Why not consider the alternative route, fly as you go. You won't get your licenses within 18 months or so but at least you won't go in debt for it.

Thanks for your update.I've recently sign up with Durham Flight Center and so far they seem upfront, their prices are reasonably fair and there's no membership fees.

Re: Your experience at BFC or Spectrum
I've done my intro flight at Brampton, and when time came to continue with my flight training i was told that there is a membership fee as well i would be put on a waiting list which minimum would take 1 year. Personally avoid these flight schools. Go to Toronto Island Flight School or Durham Flight...

Re: Go solo prior to going to a flight college?
i've gone to Seneca College for aviation operations so i've got that diploma to fall back on to at some point, but the only reason i would go to the flight college its because its substituted.

Go solo prior to going to a flight college?
Hello, everyone,
I was looking at Confederation's 2 year pilot program and it looks promising given it subsided, however I only have a few hours under my belt. So prior to going there should I get my recreational license or at least go solo to be more prepared there?
Thanks in advance,
Mircea
