Re: Mags left on accident
The assumption is that the mags were left on by accident. . . That's not the assumption I would come to. Wouldn't be the first time a pilot had a dead / low battery, tried to hand prop the plane and it started and got away on the pilot.

Re: Pilot who buzzed Santa Monica Pier - missing in China cr
Wow absolutely astonishing, amazing, unbelievable. . . I’m not talking about the deceased pilot I’m talking about everyone who has posted so far. Universal condemnation of someone for doing what exactly? What did this pilot do that was wrong, in anyway broke rules, regulations? I’m talking about thi...

Re: C208 Intitial sim training requirments?
Thanks for the post. Interesting read. I do note that there is no minimum amount of time listed in those recommends. Though I believe the industry standard is 10 hours of sim time for the initial.

Re: rumour?
It is only a rumor that we at Found Aircraft are closing. . . Our website is down due to issues our service provider is having and will be up hopefully today as they are working on the problem right now. This was back in April. The Expedition website and any links to the Turbo Bigfoot are still not...

Re: C208 Intitial sim training requirments?
Thanks for the insight. I've looked through the CARs and can't find a reference / details of these requirements. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong section.

Private Operating Certificate. When is one needed?
I've searched TC website and AVCanada and can't find any notation as to which aircraft are required to have a POC. I did find this notation below on the CBAA website but it is vague and it is my understanding that TC has now taken POC away from the CBAA and placed it directly back in TC hands / cont...

Re: Letting a medical lapse to get more useful time out of i
I let my medical expire for 6 months every year. There is absolutely no TC issue with letting your medical expire. I'm over 40 and need to renew my medical every 6 months. But I fly floats for only 5 months a year. so I renew it just before the season starts and it lasts for the full season. Then I ...

Re: Study shows career as a pilot becoming less attractive
I've got 2 sons and a daughter, they've grew up around aviation. Not one of them wanted to be a pilot and I'm 100% ok with that. All have vocations and all make more than I do, get more time off, get way better benefits and have much more family time. My oldest son and daughter started making more t...

Re: Air Canada pilot restrained in-flight
I'm honestly surprised there aren't more mental health issues that come up. In all seriousness you have to be a bit mental to become a pilot these days. What sane person would pay the cost of training / education and living expenses to become a pilot, with at best a 10% chance of getting employed in...

Re: RCMP officer charged after aircraft accident/incident.
All I can say is yes there was damage to both vehicles. And yes every effort is being made to cover up as much of this as possible. You can bet if this was anyone of us regular pilots without a badge there would be no end to the charges and the detailed press releases and investigative photos etc. I...

Re: Plane seized in suspected caribou hunt
Ummm an RCMP officer who is part owner in an aviation company had one of his planes involved in an illegal hunt and he is crying becuase no one will tell him why his plane has been seized? I think this is a case of if you're to stupid to know the reason then there's no point in us wasting our time. ...

Re: Air Tindi Fatal TSB Report To Be Released March 20, 2013
TC did not throw this guy under the bus. He threw himself under the bus. He was using illegal drugs, impaired and people died while he was at the controls. I think TC was more than fair. I’m going to go one step further. Given the levels of drugs in this guy’s system I would say this isn’t a onetime...

If I was to take a wild guess. You applied on a job, didn't get it and later found out or came to the conclusion it was due to some nasty info from a previous employer that you worked for more than 2 years ago? Now you’re mad at both the company you applied to for not giving you a kiss on the cheek ...

From a job posting looking for instructors.
"Because the majority of our students will be unilingual Chinese speaking, fluency in Mandarin is an absolute necessity."
You know you are fast rising to be the next super power when you can start dictating changes to international aviation standards.

From your description you've done nothing wrong. In fact I would have been impressed that you asked lots of questions and got clarification on things. Asking lots of questions is a definite plus in my book. Asking if there are other rotation options is totally fair. They said no and that shouldn't b...
