Re: Porter vs AC

50 percent up the porter master seniority list, 28 years old YTZ based FO, 1900 flight hours. Still most people I talk to recommend I go to AC for my career, especially older guys. Thats its simply the best place to be even if you'll be more junior. Whats people take on this? Need advice please and...

Like do you guys really debate if technically your junior pilots are in poverty?!
That is why the state of the profession is the way it is in Canada.

We are our own worst enemy.

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

I will easily crack 200k this year and haven’t done a single OT shift, not ONE! Really? Top scale is $165/hr increasing to $168 on July 01st. @85 credits per month that is approximately $169,800. If you are a training dept pilot, that would be $186,800 (plus 10%). If you were ACP that would be $195...

Minimum daily credit.

Flight time/duty time ratio (daily).

Flight time/trip time ratio (for entire pairing).

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?

So Flair finally offers as much to fly a 189 seat 737 as a 130 seat E2 in hopes that it will stem the exodus.

In return, lower MMG and disincentivizing O/T. And no rigs.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The first ones off the Titanic survived. The last ones all drowned.

Re: PWA vs CP Air merger

And looking for precedent in the Feller Award (largely viewed as one of the most flawed single arbitrator awards ever written) won’t carry much weight in 2024. You're confusing that with the EPA merger award. Hi. Original post mentioned EPA. The first arbitrated award was CP/EPA (Feller), followed ...

Re: PWA vs CP Air merger

Actually both merger committees should have read them twice by now. The closer the two committees stick to rational and valid arguments, the better off everyone will be. Emotional irrelevant arguments just lead to poor outcomes. Bede I assume you are looking for bathroom reading and not on the merg...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

Well this is going to get interesting. What Air Canada knows and the “ bearded children” probably don’t, is that a labour arbitrator is very constrained in what they can consider when rendering a decision. They cannot just award what they want or what they think is fair. They have to consider a myr...

Re: OT opportunities?

Hello. I'm considering AC vs some other options. I was initially leaning towards AC but now have become doubtful due to just how far back they are in terms of pay vs every one else and how much one would have to struggle the first year. The only way i see surviving on $58k in a big city is picking ...

Re: Dash to E2 left seat upgrading

5 years to $171,000 on the E2 3 years to $107,148 on the E1 I think I'll stay  Kicker is now that if you have previous 705 time (i.e, Jazz) you'll most likely come in E2 FO or E2 Capt if you have E1 experience. E2 FO is 103K on year 3, however at that point there is a high likely you would be...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

Rudder, purely as an aside conversation, I thought that ADP was authorized to distribute existing funds from what is essentially either a charter account or an account wholly managed by the corporation, with access authorization to ADP. I'm only basing this on what I've seen from looking at small s...

Yes, most have, a few in institutions are slower than others. Pay day is the 15th, oh look it's still the 15th. Not ideal optics, but still going to work tomorrow. Ideal optics?? It’s bad enough for the company to acknowledge it, adding in the fact 25 million is being withheld now as well says a lo...

I think the moral of the story is don't trust AC (or really any corporation). They'll lie and cheat if it's the best option they see available. Their word has no value. Look after for yourself and your fellow pilot . Act with honesty and integrity, but understand it's a one way street. Lots of Jazz...

If that were true - close the doors.

Most companies would cease operations PRIOR TO missing a payroll deadline. If the planes are flying, it probably is just a rumour.

Really? The WJ pilot contract will prevail for the merged pilot group. The SW pilots will become WJ pilots. And yes, upon implementation one of the upsides will be YOS for pay for the former SW pilots. I hope you're right Rudder. Cause if you're right it would mean that sw pilot hired in 2015 who u...
