Try Solenta Aviation.
They're based in Joburg but have 1900D contracts. The main one is in Algeria for the oil and gas industry. High requirements for upgrade but 5 on 5 off and very good US dollars for 6 months "work" a year.
Pm me if you need more details.

Re: TC to FAA Conversion
Hi riaz6668,
Have you done this conversion lately? I was under the impression that you have to complete a type rating on something over 20 tonnes and it was quite an involved process.
Maybe the process has changed recently?

Re: L1011 at YYZ Nov 3rd
Hi All,
It's a 216 Sqn aircraft based at Brize Norton in the UK. It was on a flight that went to YYZ, on to Washington DC and then home. Probably moving people from various military posts around those parts of the world.

Re: Orca Airways
Such a shame that the changes DC and JS implemented in the short time that they held the reins, are going to waste. The company certainly appeared safer under their guidance and the increased rest periods were greatly appreciated by the pilots. I guess that it is time for the pilots to stand up for ...

The 1900 is news to anyone that works there. There is no 1900. Maybe a sub charter to NT Air?

Re: Displaced threshold question.
I have had this exact same discussion... I fly into Nanaimo regularly and although we use runway 16 most of the time, I will land before the displaced threshold on runway 34. The reason for the displacement as I understand it is that it is to provide adequate terrain clearance for a straight in appr...

I guess that they are in the process of buying Airspeed who have been doing that run for many years now.

Re: Any recent Orca Airways info
Not trying to stir the pot here but are the conditions up north or away from YVR any better in terms of pay, schedule, cost of living (except rent as we know that is expensive in the YVR area) etc for entry level positions? Or is it just a case that the people that wish to stay in the YVR area have ...

You will have to head west into BC first. Saw this place on Wings over Canada once and I will get there one day.

ATPL Questions
Need help, working on Saron.
I am not getting the right answers for Questions #25 and #24 on the Flight Operations section of the Aero course Workbook. The only thing I can figure is we add the acceleration height.
Anyone have any directions?

Hi Chris, I too am ex RAF (Halton Apprentice) and moved here (Vancouver) 2 years ago. You have made a good choice to move to Canada despite what other people might say. One major stumbling block lies in your way if you are looking at doing your licecnes over here......you need to be a permanent resi...
