Re: New hire bids

AC 2024 hiring will be on the order of 500-600. Not sure how many Jazz ‘60%’ pilots are going to qualify. ATPL and 2000 hours to apply. Quite a few of the pre-MOA pilots will still not meet that criteria to apply during 2024. AC 2025 hiring will likely normalize. So perhaps 200-300(?) depending on ...

Re: July/August interview

So.. I guess people interviewed at the end of July still waiting for an answer...any words regarding the December g.s? There is one planned for Dec 27th, a few Jazz pilots have received the call. Hope this helps. All calls and offers for the December 27th PIT courses have been sent. Next courses wi...

Re: July/August interview

Anybody aware if there will be any PIT courses in Dec? I heard from a colleague that HR told them they were not sure if they were going forward with the Dec PIT courses or not.

Re: Commuting at Jazz

How long does it take to hold a block in YYZ/YUL right now? And when you're on reserve, are you often sent on multi-day pairings when they call you and can you expect anything for per diems? Trying to get an idea of how commutable YOW could be on reserve. It's a 1hr50 drive to Dorval, which I think...

All depends on the base. The quick way out of reserve would be to get a spot in YYZ. Some YUL FO's have been on reserve for over a year.

Re: AC-JAZZ ALPA merger?

Jazz guys being called up to AC these days. The open time is going bananas with all the block being dropped in open time. The status quo can't last for that much longer. Planes will be parked and flights cancelled. Every base has almost 10-15 lines of CA open time flying.... Me thinks Xmas time wil...

Re: ACPA LOA?

As someone just starting at jazz, I like what I heard will be on it. I hope they vote yes. Apparently we will get locked in seniority numbers?! As someone being in the bottom half of Jazz as well, I hope they vote no to this. like negative_g said, this is the most leverage we have possibly seen in ...

Re: Classic Dash replacement??

Is there perhaps a possibility that the classic will stick around a little longer? Or is it still in the plan to retire all the classics by the end of 2021? With the aviation sector ramping up and increasing quite quickly, perhaps they have revised their need to keep it a little longer...

Re: Entire application process timeline?

I'm honestly thinking after all the anecdotes that they prefer the sub 1000 hr guys. Less "bush to get out of them" as someone phrased it. I'm probably wrong if we had the real figures but it sure sounds that way reading these threads I would tend to disagree with this a little bit. Jazz are very u...

Re: Entire application process timeline?

How long does it take usually between the moment they call your references and the pool email? It's never the same. Seems to vary a lot. Some people get the confirmation that they are in the pool and others don't. Personally, my references got called mid-october, did my medical October 28th, then n...

It was a class only of GGN pilots. They all were CA & FO RJ Positions at various bases.

2020 will be another year of incredible amounts of movement and hiring at Jazz. Assuming the country still has any ATPL's left that want to work here.. Plenty of ATPLs, but no calls back, so i'm assuming people end up applying at other companies. flyingb Plenty of ATPL's just none willing to live i...

Re: New hire bids

It would sure be nice to at least see a couple of positions offered out East in YYZ or YUL. From what I heard and understood, it's a matter of a couple of months before a transfer is accepted, so it isn't that bad for the moment. I guess there are people from out West that got put out East in the s...
