Re: Any updates on training?
Are there any trainees who were in specialty or OJT who are still waiting to be called back? I'm guessing all of them would need to be called back in order for ab initio trainees to be re hired.. Probably looking at late 2022 or 2023 for new hires, given how they havent recalled or even reached out...

Re: All Trainees Fired
I had a manager tell be that NavCan was losing $1500 per MINUTE. Thats about $2.1 million dollars per day. Pretty grim. Damn.. that certainly puts things into perspective. I agree with Big Pistons though, it really looked like NAVCAN could have used a bailout or additional funding. Dont want to sta...

Re: All Trainees Fired
Hi from YVR FIR here. I am one of the trainees cut but the rest of the trainees from my class are still in place. However I imagine as time goes on they will cut trainees before they cut licensed controllers. Until those still in training actually get their license it will be a scary time. I ...

All Trainees Fired
With all the trainees being let go, even those that were just short of qualification, looks like none of us are getting a chance to become ATC anytime soon.
edit- looks like i got it wrong, some specialty and otj still remain, there is a good reddit thread on the topic too.

Re: Any updates on training?
I know this question is for FSS but I personally dont think you should expect an update this year. Like great4bait stated for controllers alot of candidates are still in the waiting pool. There are people that are OTJ, the Spring 2020 classes that were delayed, people who passed the boot camp this s...

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Over on reddit trainees were stating that their training was pushed back to May (with pay). So I think we have a good chance of having bootcamp in mid to late May with our training still scheduled for Fall. Joanne also told me that they are still planning on training for the fall but that was last ...

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020

Re: YWG Assessment Feb 2020
Just received an email saying all assessments (the upcoming 2-day bootcamp) are cancelled for the moment due to COVID19. Hopefully they don't forget to contact us again once the dust settles.. :prayer: Oh wow, they are delaying the hiring process.. interesting. Looks like the other regions wont get...

I've had a CBSA app in for 2 years now and have half the process left so 18 months is nothing for me lol Damn CBSA taking its sweet time. Re: YQX FEAST in person test FEB 2020
Being from London, Gander was already the middle of nowhere so it’s all the same for me haha. Being a recent grad I’d love to get a real job. Imagine you have to move to Iqaluit lol I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t looked at jobs there already, stupid lack of knowledge of other languages on my behal...

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
It’s all the same, I wrote in Gander but my email just came from the general Nav Can recruitment team, not any single person. Failed In Gander, but I was in the Toronto pool. Sucks to suck but alas I hope I get an FSS invite.  Good luck on FSS, might be joining you. On the plus side 18 m...

Re: YQX FEAST in person test FEB 2020
You may be in the same boat as me, I got a second email saying I’m eligible for FSS moments later, actually maybe even before. I believe everyone who did not pass feast got that same email, where the job posting was for ATC and FSS. Not sure if moving to wabush or some other isolated community is s...

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
I wonder if the recent crash in air travel due to covid-19 along with the recent pull back in the global equities markets has changed nav Canada’s hiring requirements and is related to the delay in results ? Just speculating !! Agreed with atcthrowaway, we wont be training until the fall and wont b...

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020

March has only just begun. Thats true. Almost all of them are 1 year+ from your first interview -Btw you ev...

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Here hoping they compile the results by weeks end Very frustrating, don't know why it's taking so much longer this time around. I always assumed the FEAST program compiled it electronically/automatically for you but maybe they have to do it manually? I wonder if they take a look at your resume this...
