Re: YVR post-interview offers
They ran FEAST again last week in YVR, and results have already been given out. They may interview that group thru the month of April before offers go out.

Re: FSS to ATC possible?
I just received NavCanada's email saying I am eligible for FSS but not for ATC. I'm wondering is it possible to transfer from FSS to VFR? I heard that cross-training is currently unavailable and likely will be the case for the next few years. If cross-training is not available then I'm considering ...

Re: YVR post-interview offers
Well there are two, Enroute and Terminal, running at the same time. Both start on Monday. They only run IFR once a year from Feb or Mar until Sept. There are generally 2 VFR courses per year, usually around April - Oct, and Oct - April.

Re: YVR post-interview offers
Looks like the 16 IFR spots have been filled for a Feb course already. Next VFR course likely in late spring, not sure if it's filled yet. Edit: Generally only 1 IFR course is run per year, so the next opportunity is likely Feb/March of 2025 How far in advance do offers tend to go out? Usually they...

Re: YVR post-interview offers
I'm not sure if the next course has been filled or not, but I have been coursed twice in VR FIR, and both times received the offer Dec/Jan for a March course start. They may be doing further interviews/testing before sending out offers. Rumor has it the next IFR course will have 16 students (8 enrou...

Re: Cat II Medical - Previous Depression
I haven't dealt with this situation myself but I do know someone who has. This is purely anecdotal but the person had a similar story to you. They were prescribed SSRIs years ago and had been off them for quite some time when they went to apply for their CATII medical. I don't know the details but ...

Re: Cat II Medical - Previous Depression
Hello all! My apologies if this is not the correct place for this question, but figured it may be relevant to other applicants. I had been diagnosed in early 2017 for depression (~5 years ago), and prescribed SSRIs at the time. I took these for a few months before going off them. I haven't had any ...

Re: Random Applicant Question
I was 21 when I started training intially. I am 23 now after being recalled. Oldest in my class is 34.
Not sure how helpful that will be, I'm also not sure how they factor age into the hiring process.
Best of luck!

So, this is in-line with what others claimed. FSS first, VFR next, and finally IFR. VFR was called back "officially" in the YVR region pretty much same time as FSS. Only...I was the only VFR -YVR trainee to be laid off last September. They didn't have much of a "list" for VFR trainees to call back ...

Re: Any updates on training?
ACC so IFR Yup, thanks. I work in the ACC. Apparently it is easier to get information on Avcanada than at Nav. Thanks! Can anyone confirm if any of the trainees have been recalled? it seems odd Nav is sending out offers to candidates but trainees haven't been recalled yet I am a former IFR trainee ...

Re: Extension to applications??
Have they really extended the period before you can re-apply to 36 months now?? I feel like this kinda of sucks in case you wanted to do better on your initial online test. I wrote my online test in September, 2020 right before they cancelled hiring entirely. I felt really good about it, but I have...

Re: Male:female ratio
For the FEAST session I attended there were 20+ men and 2 women. At the 2 day bootcamp there were 9 men and 1 woman. I am starting a course next month, the class consists of 10 men and 2 women.

YVR IFR Course Placement
Hey everyone, I recently got the good news that I have passed the interview stage and am now waiting for a course offer(YVR IFR). I am just curious if anyone else in my position has received a solid course offer or if we are all still in Limbo. My workday page still says "Status : Assessment" and th...
