Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Hello ! Maybe I did not phrase my query clearly . Does the posting of over 900 slots in the recent Bid mean that there are that many unmanned Pilot positions across all fleets & ranks at AC ? Or that many new hirees required till the time factored in the plan which could be 12-24 months . The time i...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Rudder ! Haven’t quite understood your limit analysis? Aren’t all new hirees subjected time the same training whether from the connectors or OTS ? What’s the breakdown of these open slots in the latest bid, in broad terms of course rights ? This would tell us where the NB upgrade time is gonna sit f...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

That’s a big group of 39 .

What’s the break up between OTS & AC feeders ?

Did they force assign the 10 WB FO positions to the experienced OTS guys ?

Reason for so much Pilot hiring

Wondering how come AC is hiring so many pilots most recently . They hired about 450 in 2019, plan is over 800 in 2020 . As per the Fleet plans there is hardly any growth or expansion. A220 replacing EMB & 737 replacing the older 320 series . Wide body fleet has completed the inductions . True the ne...

Re: PIT Course numbers & Bid Offerings

Hello ! Wondering how the hiring is proceeding for this year ? What were the offerings to the New Hirees ? Are the OTS experienced guys being company assigned to fill the vacant WB FO positions ? With the 73Max expected back by mid year won’t it be better to assign all new hirees on this fleet ?

Hello ! Just wondering what have been the number of new hirees & the positions offered on the PIT courses. Are these based on the 800 open positions of the last bid of 2019 ? Oct 2019 Nov 2019 Dec 2019 Jan 2020 Maybe it can continue as new courses start ... When would the next equipment bid be out !

Re: Position Vs Years of Service

Wondering .... 1.Hypothetically if the management filled in all the WB open slots with new hirees then will the more senior Pilots NB Capts & FOs wishing to move to WB find themselves stuck on NB ? How many Bids are there per year ? 2.Is a new hiree frozen for 4 yrs in their PIT position ? 3.When bo...

Re: Position Vs Years of Service

Thanks DP ! Appreciate some more insight please : 1. Why is there such a big difference between the NB C & WB C ? Evidently the senior FOs rather be on WB than a NB C . What could change this ? Not long ago the NB C was almost 8-10 yrs, at that time did the senior FOs not want to hold on to WB posit...

Position Vs Years of Service

Hello ! Just to get an idea of how many years does it take to hold different positions ? From the junior most position to the senior most . Would someone please put in the current years of service for the junior most pilot holding the positions . With current NB CA positions going under 3 years as t...
