Re: Skylink express worth it?
Skylink hired a 400 hour pilot last month, the new hire had no commercial experience, bought a plane and flew around to 400 hours then got hired. I take they’re hurting for pilots. Interviewed with them pre covid, god what a mess. Told me they’d call me between 0800-1400, who gives a 6 hours window...

Re: Skylink express worth it?
What’s the deal with skylink? Pay? Aircraft condition? Management ok to work with? Per deims, bonuses? General conditions? I hear they are upgrading 700 hour co pilots lol, and are hurting for pilots as everyone is leaving by the masses. Avoid, avoid and avoid. If you still want to give it a try, t...

Re: Skylink
Skylink management is stuck 25 years ago. Buffalo Joe probably has better equipment on his DC3 than Skylink has on its 1900’. The word there is “the controller is there to work for you so ask for vectors”. Is it dangerous? No. Is it annoying? Yes. Part of the problem is UPS, they deliver a poor serv...

Re: Skylink Planes
Hello all, heard Skylink is getting an union. I'd love to hear the inside thoughts about it. It's about time, they're probably paying the same peanuts they're paying 10 years ago! During my time there I often heard rumours about it but was never a reality... I bet management is crapping theirs pants...

Re: Adding a Type Rating from a foreign Licence to a TC ATPL
I was told that only FAA type ratings can be converted in Canada.Skydweller777 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 12:48 pm Hello All,
I was wondering if someone has any experience adding their foreign type ratings on a Canadian TC ATPL. What’s the process? What if you haven’t flown on type for more than 12 months? Etc
Thanks

Re: Morningstar C208 YVR
I’m surprised it’s that low for single pilot IFR. Hard to live off that in yvr too. Be better off driving a caravan on floats at Seair As a comparison, Skylink Express, which flies the exact same routes and similar schedule as Morningstar out of YVR with the C208, pays $40k per year, no benefits, n...

Re: The Return to Normal?
The airlines can't say that the future is promising otherwise they won't get any help from their governments. Airlines need this "apocalyptic" talk to ease employees and get help from governments. I'm not saying the situation isn't bad but as I can see when I go out or talk to people, yes most peopl...

Re: Skylink Planes
Thanks for the info! I would like to know kind of a bond is it - a pro-rated bond that has to be paid if one leaves during the term or to be paid upfront or deducted from paycheck. How long does it take to upgrade? Is it the same type of bond after upgrade too? Thank you! Pro-rated bond, about 10k ...

Re: Skylink Planes
Correct, some aircraft do not have GPS capability and fly using traditional NAV aids. None of skylink's planes are certified for RNAV approaches. If you are considering working there, take into account the following: F/O pay is 33k/yr 1yr bond, approx $16k Upgrades also bonded No benefits Pay your ...

Who told you they don’t have GPS? Of course they have. A fancy trimble!
