Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?
But also about how AC interfered in our negotiation Do you have actual proof that’s going to hold up in court? The CIRB isn't a court. So you don’t have proof then. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I’m sure AC definitely interfered with your bargaining, but if you can’t prove it… I just...

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?
AC tossed our TA then came back with their own pay table. I’m sure this is what happened, but do you have actual proof other than some JAZ MEC email? You know AC could just argue something like “All we did was told Jazz we’re only willing to pay an extra X% on your pilot wages, you sure you want to...

] This is the problem, they’re not complying, imo intentionally. They don’t want to learn. At 2-2.5x my hourly rate, is it that hard to say a few things you don’t like? Send an email to the standards pilot if you really want things changed. Just like you said, before a FOM revision comes out, compl...

Re: Who Wants to Fly WJ
Run another bid to actually right size YYZ, work towards having less pilots commuting which would have more pilots available to pick up overtime and reduce cancellations, let us use the scratchpad and enable radalt callouts that come with the 737 :smt008 Just curious, if Westjet goes under tomorrow...

Re: Who Wants to Fly WJ
Just curious, if Westjet goes under tomorrow and you’ll have to go to AC at BOTL, are you going to learn their SOP or tell them “the right way” to fly a 737? The amount of ex sunwing guys saying “ya i get it this is the new normal” but refuse to learn Westjet SOP is mind boggling. Be a professional...

Re: Who Wants to Fly WJ
Maybe have a look at that Westjet operation, if you want to talk about competence. How's that reduction bid looking now? Why was the operation "right sized" in the first place? How about the "we are overstaffed since the merger" crap that some still believe? Pilots will bitch about this or that, bu...

Re: Recent bid 25-05
We're still running 2 classes per month of 25 each AFAIK. Bid 25-05 also doesn't account for the latest 25 pilots that started on September 24. This suggests that all vacancies will be on property by the end of this month - personally I'm not convinced nor worried, there's likely something either g...

Re: Why WestJet?
In YVR at AC you could hold any YVR position shortly after the course (NB FO and RP). It wouldn't be a crazy wait for WB FO or NB CA either. On the last bid the junior NB C and 777 FO was around 3700 and 787 FO 4600. My buddy started there 2 years ago, 737 YVR base right away, he’s still on reserve...

Re: Why WestJet?
If you're YVR you'd be out of your mind to go to WJ. Just looking at the latest list, most junior YVR captain at WJ is a Mar2013 hire. Must junior block holder is a Jun2010. So 15 years to even be off reserve as a captain on a 737. We have zero growth, and only aircraft orders are for a few max8s a...

Re: Jobs without an ATPL or IATRA
To be clear, flight operation within 704 ops as a FO positions DO NOT require the need for the IATRA or ATPL? These may include Air Ambulance as well? Just wondering why some seem to ask for it, if not needed? You don’t “legally” need an ATPL to fly right seat on a 777, but AC still requires applic...

Re: Plans after merger?
Very little growth I suspect. The company is constantly asked at town halls “how many lease returns as new aircraft arrive, how much actual growth?”. They refuse to answer. If there was indeed actual fleet growth, you can bet they’d be singing from the rooftops about it. Their silence speaks volume...

Re: Base reduction
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think WestJet does any out of hub flying down south except for a few places like YHM, Victoria, and some others. This is a new market for WestJet Vacations which requires the additional Crews. Westjet does quite a bit of southern flying from outstations. YQQ YXE...

I was told by a Jazz instructor during my sim training, some GGN pilots needed 10 extra sims when they came over. Unless he’s bullshitting me, the airline you want to avoid would include your own airline.

Re: EV Parking at YYZ,YUL,YVR
This sounds like an awful lot of work to be honest… You’ve never tried EV have you? It’s seriously way less hassle than you think Alot of work...? Have you never been to a gas station that has the clips to lock the handle in place? They're awesome, and they're basically everywhere in the US, Canada...

Re: EV Parking at YYZ,YUL,YVR
Sure you can, prepay, put nozzle in, then attach clip to keep handle in pumping position, go inside and take a leak... handle doesn't have locking clip? No problem, put gas cap under handle... Re: EV Parking at YYZ,YUL,YVR
Precisely why I don’t want an EV. Last thing I want is finishing a pairing and then go and find a (hopefully available) charger and spend another 45 minutes waiting. YYZ employee lot by the way has only a handful of chargers for I’m guessing several thousand parking spaces. If you can charge at hom...

I would a trust that ALPA is watching the seniority of the flowing pilots for correct order So what exactly is Jazz ALPA gonna do if AC doesn’t take Jazz pilots in the “correct order”? Please don’t say grievance, how’s that 2022 flow grievance going. After what’s happened in the last couple years, ...

Re: Central Mountain Air, Perimeter, Sunwest and others posting job ads paying $15,000-$25,000 less than competition
I think you airline guys are out of touch with reality. Even last year there were plenty of 1000 hr guys not getting on with Jazz/Encore, where do you suggest these guys go? Is flying a king air/metro better on a resume or more cessna time? Hiring has slowed dramatically this year, so “this hiring e...

Re: What's up
Come on guys you really think they're cancelling flights because they’re empty?
The planes have places to go after every flight, I thought this is an aviation site where this goes without saying.
And no flights aren’t empty or half empty, they just don’t want to pay 2x or 2.5x for OT
