Re: Cargo TA

ACPA has proven that they actively endorse division and lower wages. End of story.

Re: Cargo TA

I'm not familiar with the details of this TA, but it seems like it's a concession in order to diversify flying? My question is, how long is the agreement good for? In a couple years tops the industry will be back to normal growth, but will pilots still be laboring under the terms of this TA, made i...

Re: Cargo TA

There is nowhere but down now. Rest in Peace AC Pilots. The career and respect our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers forged over decades of solidarity and self-sacrifice officially ended today. Remember this date. November 23rd, 2020. It's been a good ride. Right... Remember in 2017? “OM...

Re: Cargo TA

Geeeez.......I think the Corp is regretting not asking for a permanent 25% pay cut to fly the same aircraft we have flown since 1983. ACPA would have no doubt endorsed it and sold it to the Membership with a threat. Why bother with a contract at all? Seriously. Brilliant. There is no hope for us goi...

Re: Boeing Update, for Air Canada Pilots — News and Views

The Washington Post? Seriously Ray? I thought you're blood ran slightly blue. There isn't a more left-leaning, democratic, far-left leaning liberal rag in the entire U.S.A. It’s called the reporting of facts. You you appear to be the only one attempting to make something political out of it. You're...

Re: Cargo TA

Here is another nugget to mull over. Q3 has wages, salaries, and benefits listed at 475 million. Even if pilots accounted for the ENTIRETY of this operation a 10 percent reduction is a reduction of 47.5 million. If you break that down to what that saves per day. 47.5/90 days in a quarter..... 577,7...

Re: Cargo TA

It has been interesting to sit back and watch the fur fly on this issue the past few days. Lots of opposing opinions, which is good, and a lot of misconceptions. As a 30+ year AC pilot, I think it is time to weigh in on this. Rather than trying to guess my position, I will state from the outset tha...

Re: Cargo TA

laid off Pilots who have haven't completed a year on the property slamming the Airline. Have you even looked at the website ? Over half the core organizers are captains or senior FOs. Have a nice retirement. I've been here 20 years. ACPA doesn't even have my back. FYI, they are actively endorsing a...

Re: Cargo TA

Anyone who votes yes is a retard. Full stop. Well so far I've seen my YUL LEC chair support yes YVR Councilor beg to vote yes YVR LEC Chair says this is a 90% pay raise for a furlough Our YWG chair who is the head of the negotiations committee obviously supports his work. He essentially votes twice...

Re: Cargo TA

"No one is asking for FedEx or UPS wages...." Really???? Did you even listen to the webinar? That question was asked about 4 times.... Perhaps you could enlighten us all as to what would be an "appropriate" wage. We have an agreement that is very clear concerning existing compen...

Re: Cargo TA

The group of posters on this thread are interesting... they (with their extensive backgrounds in labour law, contract negotiating, corporate finances) seem to know more than the people who were actually in the room. Where does all that knowledge come from? Reading and writing on internet forums? Yo...

Re: Cargo TA

Kaffee and Ratherbee can go ahead and support this initiative. They shouldn't be the ones complaining when we get the next offer to fly aircraft already covered in our contract for 15% less next round. If your OK with the direction our WACON is headed under this MEC, that's your business. Some are, ...

Re: Cargo TA

From what I hear around me, I feel it will pass. Sad but it is what it is, people are scared to loose that flying. At this point, the company will probably come back with a 50% pay cut to compete with swoop and flair. Like they say, secure the flying now and fix it later....can't wait. This group i...

Re: Cargo TA

I see the conspiracy theorists and nay-sayers are whipping themselves into a frenzy again. Keep it up!! You should be concerned with the regularity that this MEC veers "off contract". We made an agreement with the Corp to respect that contract when it when it was ratified by the Membershi...

Re: Cargo TA

Can someone explain to me why our contract exists? There is clear language in our contract covering the setup of a Cargo division, and the ramifications if the Corp decides to use an outside source. Its ALL there. Our MEC has chosen to ignore the very language that was agreed to by the Corp and our ...

Re: Cargo TA

MM is the spokesman for the MEC and not a very good one in my opinion. I raised my doubts about him and TL during their election. However, recalling him will have little impact on decisions coming from the MEC unless of course he is not doing his main job - ensuring the MEC is making good decisions...

Re: Cargo TA

It's been stated before, but there is contract language covering the start-up of a dedicated cargo op. There is ZERO need to go off-contract once again. This MEC has proven that they are unable to follow the contract and instead, chose to negotiate concessionary side deals. 10% reduction is an insul...

Re: Cargo TA

This is proof that the MEC can only negotiate and deliver $hit sandwiches to the Membership. You'd have to have self respect as a group to vote NO. We have none, so easy "yup" on the first draft. It will pass, with a WACON garrantee lower than CargoJet. Something like a 220 wage to fly a ...
