Re: More Q400's for Porter

Realitychex, Although I can see where you are coming from. You are discussing load factor trends as going down in the 1st quarter of a year compared to the 4th Quarter of the previous year. Given your obvious "exceeding familiarity :prayer: " with the airline industry and your role in building 3 air...

Re: Porter's IPO

Actually the bond is $20,000 for 2 years and a lot of us no longer have bonds and we ain't leavin! There are always those looking for the greener grass and they will leave. If they do I hope they find what they are looking for. Porter has a lot to offer people. It depends on what you are looking for...

Re: J/S Fee

KAG,

I believe he is referring to the fact the Porter's JS is open to FA's as well. If AC is going to start charging hopefully it'll be like WJ where if there is an open seat in back you pay your fee and get on the airplane. Guess we'll see.

Re: "Family Airlines"?

Give Porter a try. Longest I go away is 3 days. 2 nights. Most months I see my wife and kids everyday. Lot's of single day pairings, single overnights, double overnights but there are some triple overnights (4 day pairings) but chances are if you don't want them you won't need to do them. There's a ...

Re: Porter Reciprocal Jumpseat Agreement details

Hey V1RotateV2, Why don't we wait for the official details about the agreement to be released before you go running your mouth about its perceived short comings. Valhalla was merely giving some general info about it and how official details are coming soon. Management has been working on this for qu...

Re: Porter

Actually DashX,

The financial results are audited by an outside accounting firm and since we received profit sharing cheques I would hazard a guess that we were profitable ofter the 9th month as stated in the press release. Why such a hate on for Porter anyway

Re: PORTER Interview ?

V1, Sorry to hear that you didn't get hired but trust me no got hired based on a phone interview. The phone interview was just another layer added to the selection process used to filter people out. Avoiding wasting the company's and the individuals time and money. Also wouldn't put too much faith i...

Re: Jazz or Porter?

Hey folks lets not get too nasty. Both companies are good places to work. Both have pros and cons that's for sure. Pay for now is pretty equal. Scale stops at 5 yrs and is amended annually matches Jazz's pretty much dollar for dollar. Of course a bit of profit sharing brings up. (no not a dig just a...

Hey Guys, The bond is 20,000.00 for the type rating over 2 yrs prorated for each month of service. If something happens to the company you owe nothing or (as far as I know) if things don't work out for you during your probation period you owe nothing. You only pay if you don't stay. If you want to l...

As far as 704 how about the Big Green Machine in Manitoba. Perimeter started in 1960. As far as 705 it would have to be Big Red didn't it start in the 1930's?

Flightlevels, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here and believe that you have been misinformed. Unlike Jetsgo there is no cash out of your own pocket training bond with Porter. Just an agreement to to pay a pro-rated amount for the training should you choose to leave prior to fulfilling your c...

Last I heard it was a blanket type rating for all Dash 8's. So maybe not so useless especially with all the 100 and 300's around in Canada these days. How good are the type rating that you get elsewhere? If things ever do go bad at AC how many guys are gonna get jobs in Canada with a EMB 175 -190 Ty...

I guess Blastor should have posted the rest of the article where Deluce stated that they are on par for a profit in their first year. But that couldn't be possible ONLY WestJet could do that right? Flew on them last week to YUL had 54 other people sitting with me not a bad load if you ask me. Great ...

55+ Obviously there is a market out of YHZ or the Tour Operator (Sunquest or Transat) wouldn't have set up the flights out of YHZ. The planes coming out of YHZ on charters were pretty full last year. CanJet doesn't determine where it flys out of, the tour company does, CanJet merely bids on the avai...

Last I heard it was for YYZ & YUL. Either base is a good bet for getting a block quickly as there is a lot of hiring for these two bases. I've heard of some holding a good block within a month of two of being cut loose. Good luck. Where are you interviewing?

Dude you're not part of a mass layoff you're part of a mass terminationso no layoff number required. It's all in the wording. The folks at EI should know the deal as they actually came to talk to us. Just show them your ROE and you'll be OK.
