Re: Negotiations
So, I’m curious. What’s gonna happen once every eligible pilots from before Covid go to AC? No flow or very minimal flow for 2 years? AC will be well below the 60 or 40% from the contract. They will take pilots that came post covid. The 2 year thing is listed within "preference given to", and is in...

Re: New hire bids
CRM CRM CRM. Two-crew environment. BRIEF BREIF BREIF. Make sure both of you are on the SAME MENTAL MODEL the entire ride. Don't do any cowboy stuff. If it doesn't work GO AROUND. Be polite, give a vigorous handshake, dress well and be humble. If you don't know, ASK; ATC, dispatch, your co-pilot.......

Re: Negotiations
If you keep accommodating the company by picking up trips on your days off ... where’s your leverage ? I will never criticize or judge a FO making 42k/year doing a WDO. If the individual needs the extra revenue, go for it, it’s within the CBA that we as a group voted for. I am nobody to judge a per...

Preferential bidding system vs bid lines
I’m curious to know everyone’s opinion about bidding system and what is the best way to do things. I work at Jazz that uses PBS, and have a few friends in the US that uses bid lines. The comments I’m getting from my friends are they like the PBS because it’s easier to get specific days off and still...

Re: Negotiations
It doesn’t seem that jazz is in a hurry to fill the 250 plus spots that are supposed to flow to AC by year end so I don’t think they’ll be parking planes anytime soon. The simple reason is they can’t train that many people. They did a big wave of hiring recently, and adding all the upgrades, the tr...

The process is exactly the same, the only difference is the sim eval is now conducted differently (Now it’s in a Dash classic with motion off and you are paired with another candidate).

The GS still have 20 people every 3 weeks, and there is still people being rejected.canadian_aviator_4 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 9:37 am Heard from multiple sources ground schools are far from being filled. Probably not in the chief pilots favour to promote how undesirable it is to work at their company.

Re: Flow through to AC
I don’t believe there are that many pilots at Jazz that would be qualified to go over. There’s about 1300 pilots here right now when you discount management and those on disability. The top 600-700 aren’t interested and there’s hundreds of college kids with no ATPL. My guess is 200 are qualified at...

Re: New hire bids
Today another class of 19 started. The following positions were offered: 3 YYZ RJ CA 4 YYZ RJ FO 4 YYZ Q4 CA 2 YYZ Q4 FO 2 YUL RJ FO 4 YUL Q4 FO 0 EMB Positions Next class in 3 weeks. How many people from the class actually took the captain direct entry position? I understand that it’s an option fo...

Not true.flyer 1492 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 1:45 pm From the information I'm hearing thru the grapevine the DEC is on hold for now. Jazz management walked away from the table when they wouldn't agree to the terms Alpa proposed.
They had captain seat available for the last ground school. They just have no idea how to make it work yet.

So now what? - Post Equipment Bid
Congratulations to everyone who got awarded what they wanted. Now, the next big topic to be discussed is Direct Entry Captains. How do you think the company will fill the ~100 positions currently available? Will they hire a direct entry captain and bypass pay everyone that has an effective date abov...

Re: New hire bids
Basically what will end up happening is a few of the new hires lately will be awarded captain, but with an effective date later this year. There is no need as of now of DEC. The latest bid was done early in order to create vacancies, and THEN people might get trained directly in the left seat once e...

Re: Flow to AC matrix
It still remains at 60% unless they hire fewer than 100 pilots then it goes to 70%. Of the jazz applicants that apply they have to hire 90% of them. Jazz is not the fastest way to AC they would rather Hire OTS. They don’t want to deplete their regional. I know a swoop pilot with 2500 hours in the i...

Flow to AC matrix
I’ve been hearing multiple versions of the current state of the flow agreement between Jazz and AC. 1- Minimum of 60% of new hires at AC need to come from Jazz. The 60% is audited once a year to insure compliance. No less then 90% of interviews conducted need to be successful (rejection rate of maxi...

Re: DEC Posting
Anyone knows what will happen with the first few ground school regarding DEC? Since there was no bid, I don’t believe the company can offer DEC to any of those candidates. I’m assuming most in those classes will qualify.
