juming ship
The reason they are jumping ship is due to lack of repect. Summer is here and so is 18-20 days a month. No overtime, fatigue, and a general sense anger. Why management is so slow to figure out the basics is beyond understanding. Vermani does not care, he has made his millions. Watch and see where th...

Been told lately?
Who is Hilary Duff? What does fact have to do with running a company? Nice post thou, your analysis of my post indicates that you have a lot of potential in many fields. I like that you have a contribution. It shows that you have a lot of experience in aviation, and would be a positive member of any...

Rambling
Hey Beekon, great post. My home life is fine, as if it is any of your business anyway. Is there something in my post that your experience in aviation tells you I have missed something important. The only part of your post I understood was the concern for my homelife, and I appreciate that. The fact ...

Mark Twain is dead
History. If we do not know history it is bound to repeat itself. The point of the original post was the fact that any respectable company would by choice work their people 20 days a month, with no overtime involved. The point is if the full airplanes are not generating enough money to have sufficien...

CJ staff reduction
Have heard nothing about Cargo Jet over the last week. Have been waiting to see if they made the board. Well, they had a ground school sched for 6 people(politically correct) and they cacelled it. They then reduced their current roster by 14 pilots. Now the remaining guys are going to be working 20 ...

cargo
Over the last 15 years, every company that has flown the freight carried by Cargojet has gone out of business. Sometimes a full airplane does not mean good revenue stream. What an industry.

yeasty
Has anyone seen the add where the woman is helping to clean the cabin of the airplane, and then she walks into the cockpit to take her left seat while the man does the paperwork??? He smiles at her as she takes her seat. The add is for vaginal yeast infections!!!!! Hope she was not flying to Hong Ko...

CRM
Thankyou all for the input. I actually have spent a lot of time in a 3 man, or woman environment, and am a true believer in everyone contributing to a safe and fun event. I must admit that I have dealt with some younger guys from the flying club who were thrown into jet ops, and took a little while ...

sop's and stuff
SOP's. They are what we term guidelines for cockpit flows. When the shit hits the fan the differance between living and dying lies where? As a captain, if the situation requires management, who is the manager? The guy/gal in the left seat is the one who answers the questions when the aircraft is on ...

???????????
The low time guy has to know his place. If he-she gets into a know it all type of mentality, then the captain has to waste time and effort to teach something that should be understood. I have been faced with quite a few guys with that type of mentality, and they need to understand who wears the pant...

top rudder and F/O
Top rudder, pull your head out of your ass. If the f/o does not know his that he is a resource, and you(the captain) are the manager, then he needs to be taught.

F/O
There is a reason they call an F/O a JAFO. The ball game is the Captain's to run, so punish that know it all.

union
It is amazing what the word union conjures up. It normally creates a picture of people walking around a trash barrel with a fire in it for warmth and signs on their shoulders. Tim Hortons coffee, smokes, and a bad attitude. I grew up with this perspective because that is what the media portrayed. In...

union
No other profession in the world is as tightly regulated as for aircrew. Every six months we are simulated and if the performance not up to standard, can lose our job. Medicals every year, well six months now, and once again, we can lose our jobs. Respect. Funny word. Do WJ respect their pilots? I t...

Harmony Interview
Not a lot of information on this company. I think that is a good sign. However, before the interview, I would like to know what is the word on Harmony. I read some other posts, and have sent some e-mails, with no reponse. Need info on sched, salary, benefits, days on/off, and expansion plans. Also w...
