Not sure where you live but have you looked at other local companies, there are operators out there where you can be home every night.

Also, why on earth would somebody even apply to this place for such LOW pay and crappy working conditions. Sky is on the hunt for a sizable expansion, pay not great, however, MUCH better than GN and from what I hear from the inside, is much better working conditions, (from past GN employees) Also, ...

Saw it today sitting on the ramp outside the Avitat. I took a picture but on my phone and through the fence, not a good picture, sorry.

Ps, same paint and everything, you wouldn't know the difference if you didn't count the windows.

Re: Forgetting to do eAPIS

Good luck trying to explain to any authority that you "forgot" to file an eAPIS. Local charter operators that misspelt a name or got a digit wrong on a passport number eat all kinds of fines and grief, and you forgot to file one altogether? Lay low and beg forgiveness if they ever come calling, but...

Re: Forgetting to do eAPIS

A lot of mis-information on here. Yes they do care about departure reports just as much as arrival. The big difference is there is a Customs officers on your arrival, no such agent on the departure. I missed an exit filing in the first year. I remembered the next day, figured it was too late and for...

RCAF Fleet

A friend is applying and we got to discussing the fleet and his aircraft options. I was on the RCAF website and I noticed they didn't list the King Air C90. I have seen it as recently as a few months ago. Did they recently remove it from the fleet or is it missing from the website? http://www.rcaf-a...

Re: ST-360 altitude pre selecect

The Altitude needs to be "Armed" It has been a while, hit ALT put in the desired altitude, you will see ENT in the top left, the key is it has to say ALT SEL and ENT has to disappear, or else it isn't "Armed". Now this is where I am rusty, if I remember correctly after you have entered the altitude ...

Re: Advancing prop controls.. when is the right time?

In an Ideal world that would indeed be the case, but I've seen lots of times where that just doesn't happen. Guy with lots of money goes from a 172 to a light twin, or at least I know that you know of a guy who went straight from a Cherokee to a Twin Comanche, so you know there are guys out there d...

Re: Risk Mitigation for Instructors Teaching the ME rating

Sorry Hiflychick but I completely disagree with you I don't have a lot of time in the Navajo but a couple thousand in other more powerful twins, and you are not making it if you lose your engine with your gear down. If you have an EFATO and the gear is still down, you are "landing" straight ahead, c...

8 ) Altitude is life in a piston twin. Avoid shallow climb outs, I want the student to attain blue line as quickly as possible after lift off and then hold blue to 500 feet AGL. At 500 ft AGL you now have some options so you want to IMO get there as quickly as possible. I tell my students to retrac...

Can anyone who flies into CYPS regularly during the winter comment on the conditions of the runway?

The CFS states limited winter Maintenance, and we are playing on flying in several times this winter and I am wondering how clean they keep the runway and how soon after a storm do they plow?

While in Controlled Airspace

Having an argument over this phrase. I was not onboard but this is what I was told ABC is flying Westbound to Port Hardy and was given the following "Maintain 16,000' while in Controlled Airspace" Now I am unable to find uncontrolled airspace at 16,000 or above. There is a patch of uncontrolled airs...

Re: Gear collapse Springbank

WOW. Those jackasses had 42 minutes to try to kill themselves. Landing an airplane without the gear is an OOPS. Everyone makes mistakes and that can be forgiven but taking the airplane into the air with known damage to the main source of propulsion is just plain dumb. Well found out a good reason t...
