Re: PAL Aerospace

Good operator, professional and consistent. However, be prepared to work a second job to make rent. It's laughable that not paying a livable wage is somehow considered the qualify a company as "good" and "professional". Paying poorly is definitely not a professional environment. Does professionalis...

Anecdotally speaking, I have heard that you are more likely to get a call if you have an internal reference than not. Happened to a couple of pilots I know of.

Re: Does Westjet meet the current threshold for foreign investment?

Given the pandemic, the airlines as a whole have been able to raise enough money- Air Canada has issued shares, sold planes, and the like, Westjet/Onex has remained silent. WJ raised money and stayed afloat by selling their aircraft and leasing them back. And didn't pay a penny on salaries the enti...

Re: Fiberal morons.... Am I reading this correctly?

While I was never a big F-35 fan due to single engine and cost, a lot of countries are purchasing it, which does say something. That's thanks to the lobbying prowess of the Military-Industrial Complex. You don't need a quality product when you have the muscle (hordes of cash to be specific) to flex...

It IS right in their name... "Exploits" Valley Air Services... How did anyone not see this coming? lol Jokes aside, it is time we got a great resignation on the pilot side of things! EDIT: Also, I clicked into this thread hoping to read a good news story about how EVAS is heralding a new step in the...

I believe Flight Safety has a sim in Dallas, TX and I know of at least one medevac operator that sends their pilots down there for training.

Is the 750 hours for Pasco a hard limit for FOs due to insurance requirements? A friend of mine said they were hiring 250 hour FOs for their Saab out of Calgary before Covid, so I doubt it... Re: Kelowna Flight Craft

Just for your resume, Flightcraft is one word. It's a charter company that's just starting out. Word is they are busy, but untill they nail down a contract or two I'd be weary of moving there myself. As for the Convair question, the pay scale is listed in the CBA. Not sure if it works for you, but ...

Re: Should Air Canada be nationalized

Let's also nationalize Nav Canada while we're at it. Nav Canada is a gong show to the point that I feel that we're going to see airplanes fall out of the sky due to an utter and complete lack of staffing within Canada's ATC system... Also, for everyone in here who will invariably come out to argue h...

I'm not sure what that means tabarnac But we can't be doing things for too much money otherwise Air Transat will be taking our flying. We owe it to the company to do that little extra for free or else the competition will be taking our jobs!! This is the kind of attitude that has brought Canadian p...

This is exactly how socialisim works. You pay taxes (or in this case union dues) for people to act on your behalf and mak ...

Re: Alberta Aviation Museum's future

After all the mayhem around the costing of repair and refurbishment of the musuem in BC, I am sure no premier would be interested in dipping their toes into spending millions into a museum. Then again, Kenney is not particularly caring of what others think of him and is on his way out the door. Migh...

Re: Building “total time” on advanced ultralights

It is a shame that TC doesn't see Advanced Ultralights as being worth the PIC time. Some of them seem to be fairly decent airplane to build time and gain experience at a fraction of the cost. Will help bring costs down at least at the CPL time building phase.

The reality is there is more than enough pilots eligible for an upgrade at the moment at Jazz. To be noted that while Jazz may have numerous pilots without an ATPL, ALL Sky Regional pilots who integrated the Jazz pilot list are upgradable (SKY had an ATPL requirement to be employed there). Blaming ...
