Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair
Oh I'm sure 777 er, I mean uh, Stephen Jones was pleased with the results from the $0 sale lol. The stuff I've seen on the FAN page (ironic acronym noted) is more about canceling flights, delivering customers bags and actually responding to concerns. You know, real airline stuff... but pobody's ner...

Re: POST PAY IN JOB ADS!
Is this a website for airlines or for PILOTS? FOR TOO LONG companies have been hiding behind cute little job ads that DO NOT LIST THEIR PAY! Last time I checked there's a growing labor shortage with a lot less ATPL's flying around! OUR LICENCES ARE IN DEMAND. This website should reflect that demand...

Re: CTA launches formal probe into Flair
The sourness from some of you. So other airlines in Canada get money from the government, and Flair got nothing. 777 partners was there financially. You think Flair was going to say "no it's not right, it's not fair"? Nah. They were in survival mode when the government turned their back. I say they...

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
On the Flair website it now shows a lower total flight hour requirement of 1500 hours and a "Frozen ATPL". Is a Frozen ATPL considered someone with a CPL and Group 1 IFR with the SARON & SAMRA exams written and valid? When you go to apply for the FO position the drop down only has Canadian ATPL and...

I dont understand.. Indigo Airlines doesn't have any presence in Canada. They don't even fly to Canada. Some other loophole perhaps ?

Re: Should have asked for the option...
First of all, I respect you for taking the correct decision to stop. And there is nothing wrong with doing it. All that you have to do is tell tower that you have to make it a full stop. It's not a violation by any means. I'm assuming you may have taxied off without telling tower that you are making...

Re: Newbie Pilot Training Questions
Congrats on starting your Flight Training. Most students get better in a few flights. Power through it. 1. Eat something so that you have enough energy. Not too much. 2. Good sleep the night before is important. 3. Dont slouch when you sit. Try to sit straight. It helps 4. Breathe. 5. Fly the plane ...

I can say the same for schools in Manitoba.RedAndWhiteBaron wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:12 pm This would highly depend on where an FTU is located, and the restrictions in place there. You'll need to be more specific.
I can at least tell you that Brampton has suspended all discovery flights, and training of non-career students.

Re: Flight school and instructor job status
Nobody is hiring class IV instructors right now. Though if you're just starting your training things will probably be better by the time you finish up. I agree. Flight schools have a huge backlog of international students right now. And still are running relatively unaffected. Except for the fresh ...

Re: Multi ifr training hours
5-7 hours for the multi 10 hrs sim ifr 10-13 hrs ifr in the plane This would be a reasonable number i guess. And if you read carefully, the mandatory 5 hours need not be in the multi itself. It just have to be in "aeroplanes" Getting 15 hours from a qualified person.. thats where everyone has problems

Re: Multi Engine Training Aircraft
Good day everybody, I was directed to this website with a question. I am looking to get my multi engine rating on a Piper Navajo that I will be purchasing very soon. I don't see the point of going to a flight school to use their plane when I can just use my own. I do not care if it takes slightly l...

I really doubt they would do that these days. Most towers are working with reduced staffing because of covid.

Re: Multi Engine Training Aircraft
Large turbocharged engines are notoriously susceptible to damage from large power changes, especially rapid ones. A large part of multi training is training for an engine failure, so flying around with one engine, cutting an engine during a simulated takeoff, etc. is hard on the engines. This is th...
