Re: Did ACPA MEC vote themselves a raise while others are laid-off?
ACPA reeks. I can't wait for the next "unvoted for" MOU. It should be a doozy judging from the leading questions on the survey. The mandate was obvious. Lower expectations into negative territory. The damn contract was suppose to protect us during hard times cause God knows it protected the Company...

Re: Did ACPA MEC vote themselves a raise while others are laid-off?
I don’t see how ALPA would be any different. It would be the same names over and over just like ACPA. I see how ALPA’s toolbox helped WJ. No thanks You're right in saying if we don't change the people then not much else will change. But the fact we wouldn't be policing ourselves in my mind is a hug...

Re: Did ACPA MEC vote themselves a raise while others are laid-off?
We had the ALPA deal we wanted too... Group A, our own EVP, and Group C EVP no longer running ALPA Canada. We can get it back. Either way, we need to punt ACPA, the office staff, the lawyers, the expensive office, and the broken constitution - which is largely ignored by leadership anyway. ACPA is ...

Re: Did ACPA MEC vote themselves a raise while others are laid-off?
I have lost all faith in ACPA as an Association in the last 6 months. Well to be honest I was already well on the way before COVID, but the MOA and the bullshit being strewn around with the nationally elected member, the rushed MOA, 55 hours for flat pay pilots, lack of furlough support and overall ...

CEWS is paid by your company and then afterwards reimbursed by the gvnt, and as far as I understand qualifies you for EI.

So two national members are young ish. That's it. The rest are all must definitely an old boys club don't fool yourself. The "old boys club" is on the YVR and YUL LEC... YWG for that matter... not to mention some of the committee chairs/members they appoint. Until these bases can elect someone that...

Re: Did ACPA MEC vote themselves a raise while others are laid-off?
All of us have taken cuts, but we've also been working less, most of us much, much less. If the Union Reps are working 110% of their pre-covid duties you could make the argument that they don't deserve to take a cut. That said, this fails the taste test as it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. At th...

Re: Did ACPA MEC vote themselves a raise while others are laid-off?
Oh lets not forget the MEC member who is muzzled and lost his ACPA email. Not recalled, just muzzled. And no one still knows why.
I guess democracy in a union doesn't matter when you as the MEC Chair hold the deciding vote since everything is split 5/5 at all times. It's like a dictatorship.

One day, you might wake up to the fact that there are principles on which some people choose to abide, including principles against discrimination, including discrimination on the basis of age, which is guaranteed both under the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Canadian Constitution . Hope you emailed the MEC like I did. Everyone who wasn't able to be in the survey should do that. If you're on the slack chat, someone made a survey template. Go check it out.

Re: P180 job ad: "don't apply"
The fact they want to fly it single pilot IFR is a red flag in of itself.
Means not only are they trying to cut costs by removing a person from the flight deck, but also open up an extra seat for passengers (the front) and shows they lack a safety mindset.

Since I only make $60/hr that must mean I have no idea what I'm doing.

Lol @ fly till you die. FP60 was one of the single biggest mistakes in recent history. And that's saying a lot considering Rouge exists. I would have loved to retire with a full pension at 60, after having a unicorn career. Some people just want more more more more. And ACPAs contract is a blatant e...
