Airline employees all over the country are struggling. The elected members can now see who these people are. Thank you for doing that. Sadl...

Re: Save Canadian Aviation March in Ottawa Oct 20th

You mean "save the Canadian airline industry". A lot of other sectors are still functioning and adjusting. Agree 💯, airlines have had it good for a very long time. GA, Rotary, corporate, management, and MRO’s know well the feast and famine since the beginning, think of the changes in the last 10 ye...

Re: Save Canadian Aviation March in Ottawa Oct 20th

Sorry but no. What exactly do you want the government to do? Travel is down due to a global pandemic, this will continue this way for the foreseeable future. No amount of spending or stimulus is going to encourage people to get on a plane. That money would be better spent IMO supporting the people ...

Re: Save Canadian Aviation March in Ottawa Oct 20th

If there was going to be help it would have happened by now. The federal government is eerily turning a blind eye to this situation for a reason. Wake up!

Russian vaccine approved for use. Mass vaccinations to start in October.

Uh huh.... approved for use does not equal effective use :)
It doesn’t equal non-effective use either.

Re: Regarding AME Shortage

There’s only a few thousand total. And as for guys like me? Helicopter ames I’m pretty sure it’s <500 total and even less still active. This industry has gone down the drain since 2008. It’s a F’n shame man, what are you doing now? I’m 16 years in and likely out for good after this COVID19 lol I bu...

Re: AME License Recency Clarification

"No person shall exercise the privileges of an AME licence unless, within the preceding 24 months; they have successfully completed the regulatory requirements examination, or have, for at least six months:" You could go write the exam. Its write the exam or get the 6 months. I was thinking that as...

Re: AME License Recency Clarification

There might be some leniency due to covid but we're talking about a 6 year inactive licence in this case. Somehow, there's still a demand for AME's too so you would need a good excuse to not be able to maintain currency. OEM jobs are a completely different problem but you don't usually take those t...

Re: Regarding AME Shortage

I have worked all over Canada and the world fixing aircraft. I have done start ups, rescues, consulting ect.. In my opinion there’s a shortage of highly skilled not lazy AMES. Certain provinces produce better AMES. I find in sask, alberta it’s more of a farm mentality and lots of oppies happen from...

Re: Fixed wing to heli

What type of flying are you looking at doing? Any previous IFR time will be great if you decide to look at offshore or Air ambulance, but keep in mind that you wont have the minimum helicopter hours for alot of jobs. You would have a great in at somewhere like Helijet though as an FO, but I wouldn'...

Yes.. and this is a result of paradigm shifts that will likely become semi-permanent as time goes on. The Baby Boomers. They are dependent on their investments, more vulnerable to the disease, more prone to being frightened by sensationalist news, and larger liabilities for insurance companies. I t...

Changed globally for reduced flight likely for the next ten years. Changed flying and social interaction of humanity for the unforeseeable future. With this craziness I wouldn’t doubt ten plus years until flying picks back up to pre March 2020 levels, if ever. Humanity is learning more can be done f...
