Re: Maintenaince Costs For Cessna 172s
I owned a fairly high time 1965 172 G. It was roughly $800-$1400 for the four annuals i had it for. The first one was the highest and then went down from there. I had some parts that needed replacement like elevator bushings fuel drains and primer gaskets. The stuff that had detoriated over the yea...

Re: Maintenaince Costs For Cessna 172s
You can see example annual inspection rates here: http://www.vicair.net/flat-rate-inspections.html I think this is roughly what you'll pay at most places. Of course, it doesn't include parts or fixing anything that has broken, which usually costs another few thousand a year. Thanks man, piper doesn...

Re: Maintenaince Costs For Cessna 172s
Happily, well cared for later 172's don't consume a lot of Cessna parts. They will consume consumables, and those are usually available from more cost competitive sources. You may need some engine parts, again more than one source. Be wary of Cessna parts, some prices seem to be rising, perhaps on ...

Re: How is Brampton Flight Center?
Go to Steinbach, MN. Better weather, lower costs. Well that was a useless reply. I usually train out of YTZ but go to Brampton sometimes for a review or when the weather is just too awesome not to fly. I did my PPL ground school at Brampton. I have no complaints about the instruction there, and the...

Re: How is Brampton Flight Center?
I'm quite familiar with that place. Overall, very good school. Fleet is very well maintained and there are instructors at the ready. The 152s were sold last spring so a 172P is your best budget option. It's a good location training wise. Uncontrolled field allowing for easier flight training (no li...

Re: Has anybody given up?
Never give up, friend, I would say at least try at the career and then you say you will give up. I was very frustrated when COVID came, but later on, a senior instructor of mine encouraged me by telling me many stories of his former students. What I found was that each pilot gets his own career opp...

Re: Be a Better Pilot
Wow, very detailed and fantistic job! Some older pilots who fly small planes would check the fuel cap and oil and oil cap again if they finish the walkaround and leave for more than like 15 minutes. Just wanna share it.

Maintenaince Costs For Cessna 172s
Hi Wonderful AMEs, just like to get some insights on the yearly costs you would spend for 172 maintenainces. We are looking to buy and a M modle or P model, any differences in the costs between these two? I know they are similar, but dont know if you professionals know more about the details in term...

How is Brampton Flight Center?
As posted, heard their training quality is very good. Anyone who used train there and get any comments?

Re: Coastal Pacific aviation
Dear Mike (Jason), I went over your review for Coastal Pacific Aviation, and unfortunately none of your statements are correct. CPA has many senior instructors including 4 class 1s, and 3 Class 2s. This is two times the number of senior instructors at Chinook. CPA also has over 20 instructors and 2...

Re: Coastal Pacific aviation
Coastal is not the flight school the indutry had been knowing since like 2 years ago. Training standards have been lowered because all of the execellent, wonderful senior instructors left for Chinook Aviation. If you search for their CADORS, you will be surprised. Students are suffering a lot from i...
