Re: Westjet Mainline FO ad.

"DON’T expect any shuffling of positions, lawsuits, grievances or any bullshit like that. It’s just not happening." That's something you can't control. I'm dealing with the same "hopes" with respect to my ex-spouse. She is threatening to take me to court, looking for retroactive spousal support (ab...

Just tell ATC that you will fly with visual references to whatever point you will intercept and begin the approach.

Re: China's AT200 Cargo Drone Production Commenced

How long until we start losing pilot jobs to this kind of UAVs? Or how many more years of two-crew operations? I wonder how feasible it'd be to ''upgrade'' the current two-crew rated airplanes to fly single pilot. It’s one thing to use a UAV for cargo or surveillance, but I think we are a long way ...

Re: Whats causing that shooting star

Meteors and meteorites as the enter the atmosphere travel so fast that they compress the air in front of their path, which creates high levels of heat that burn up the object. This is the light of the “shooting star” that you are seeing. The source of these meteorites are varied. In some cases they ...

Re: Best place for multi IFR training??

At Cornwall you will be loading up the flight plan in the GPS for half hour on the ground while 2 engines are running @ $400 per hour and the instructor who doesn't give a shit about you or your money is looking out the window and/or texting. Put your flight plan in before start, then save it. Afte...

Banning cannabis use among any staff is nothing short of hypocritical and grossly over correcting. While I completely agree with the ban and strongly agree cannabis, like any other state altering substance, in the wrong hands is a public danger. It, however is also a scientifically proven medicine ...

Re: tablet on the CPL checkride?

Have heard a student used it for the cross country and did most of the planning on it and the examiner in flight told him “oops the battery died on it, now what?” Student lost all focus and the flight test was given a fail and came back, so don’t rely on apps or gps in the plane please, good old lo...

Ultimately I would choose the one that has the shortest time for you to drive to. All these airports have thier advantages and disadvantages. They are not always obvious. During the 10 minutes used to fly from Boundary Bay to the trading area, there is ample training that can be done. Other comments...

Re: New pot legislatiion brings on talk of pilot pee in a cup

We already have to pee in a cup for our medical. We already have piss tests at construction job sites. This is nothing new and should be expected, given the responsibility of hundreds of people's lives. When you pee in a cup for your medical do you know what the purpose of such is? Had a bit of a s...

Things I have found that I needed to do include: A utility to create an example aircraft to illustrate how the overall operation of the app behaves. Individual help fi...

I don’t think you even need the t&g at the end of your 300 for it to count. Just have to cover the distance I though.

What about time on floats spent learning sailing, docking, beaching etc. You could spend an hour or more in the plane and not leave the water.

I believe that the instrument training has to come from a flight instructor to be counted towards cpl time.
