Re: ATC Layoffs?
Which part of what I posted is nonsense? The number of people laid off? That some were union members? That some staff are job sharing? That some NAV CANADA employees have had pay cuts and are having their pensions changed? That CATCA got a pay rise last year through the CA, and will do so again in ...

Re: ATC Layoffs?
While 900 employees have been laid off, including some union members, with other staff having to job-share just to stay employed and taking pay cuts and having their pensions changed on them, CATCA employees received a 3% pay increase last year (should have been July as per the CA but was initially...

I'm pretty sure that was a joke... If having absolutely no sense of humor gets you going through this pandemic keep doing just that, you're doing great!!

Re: ATC Layoffs?
My point here is not trying to say who's working harder or which job seems harder. There's a seniority list, respect the list, end of story. It's gonna cost money to retrain if you cut by seniority? You had from 1996 til now to solve that problem. OUPS There's no valid argument to not respect a coll...

Re: ATC Layoffs?
The way they announced the layoffs is pretty shameful: -Not giving a @#$! about the CATCA seniority list -Basically telling us terminal controllers are worth more The way CATCA has handled this ? I'm pretty sad to see a controller throwing dirt at CATCA. Not wanting to save jobs when people are read...

Re: Landing fee at CYOS
People ranting about having to pay 35$ for a landing at an airport ? Should everything be free for VFR private owners? You can afford 150$ (I have absolutely no idea how much it is) an hour to go burn gas but ranting about 35$ for your landing fees. LMAO The whole industry is crashing down, pilots w...

Re: ATC Layoffs?
I'm wondering here did the airlines layoff pilots the correct way (respecting the seniority) ? Or are you like us wondering if your name will come out of the sorting hat of layoffs? Or are the companies not giving a @#$! about your seniority and pretending that laying off people will actually make a...

Re: Nav Canada FSS closures, layoffs
Caving in defeats the whole purpose of a union... Sadly they still have a lot to cut on before they reach operational controllers...

Re: ATC Layoffs?
I don't know what the projections hold for future trafic, but until Nav has a guarantee that trafic will not come back up for a certain period of time that's when they will lay off controllers, not before. They are too scared of trafic coming back and not being able to provide service at a 100% leve...
