Re: Porter Western Canada Base

In a manuscript from our latest town hall prior to Christmas, this question was asked. The CEO's answer was something along the lines of "at the end of our growth plans". Some of us Western commuters were hoping for things to move a bit faster. Perhaps his answer refers to a brick and mortar base, v...

Re: Fall 2023 Hiring Update

Are there airlines in Canada that pay for accommodation for your entire line training if it's in your assigned base? I was under the impression you are on your own other than maybe the ground school portion, but if it's in your base city I'm not sure even that would be paid for... which airlines ar...

Re: What to expect in first week of GS?

Come excited. First day is pretty relaxed at the island, plan for a social at the Wheatsheaf in the evening. Dress for the day at the office - you'll likely be meeting the big wigs. I believe technical ground school is online, but there will be the odd element in person at Pearson - either at a han...

Re: Commuting

Porter's commuting policy was just altered on the last pilot call. Commuting between the Pilot’s assigned Crew Base and any Porter destination is allowed, provided it is connected by a single flight leg. You are responsible for meeting the 2hr reserve call-out where applicable. Pilots commuting fro...

If, or should I say when, recession hits, the ones that got hired recently within the last year or so are gonna get hit hard. Jazz will always have air canada, but Porter doesnt have anybody, watch their expansion turn into reduction overnight. Boys n gals, if you have a seat with a decent seniorit...

Re: Recession

What stops wage reductions is the Canada Labour Code. You don't need a Union and dues for that protection. I would argue you do, have you ever voted on your “agreement” from, I believe you it call FOAG. Has anything ever been presented with, you have a vote on this! If the answer is no, the labour ...

What's the minimum/maximum number of days worked? Credits/month? Are pairings generally productive? What are grey days? - E2 avg right now is 16 days (some as low as 12, most 14-18) - MMG 80 - Pairings on the E2 typically are 3-5 day, decent productivity due to stage length of western flights, high...

No more GS. Porter is hiring tho ...
Ahh... okay, thanks. Porter won't work for us Westerners... it sounds like they don't have a reciprocal agreement yet, and are quite far away from a Western base.
