I believe the reason for them going for the higher age is the fact that most of the major airlines have restructured their retirement and pension plans. Therefore a lot of the pilots have to work longer to make up for the shortage in their pension plans.

Canjet is calling back sometime soon hopefully, and lots of guys and gals have gotton other jobs. so after the dust has settled people are working which is a good thing.
