JTF

I think when you look back at a lot of the posts there wasn't anything really to bad said about the training. Most people I think that went throught the training had great things to say about it. Well paced, easy going, mostly fair, generally a good bunch of people envolved. Its the other stuff. 1 n...

Yes they are represented by ALPA.

Invert, Loads were never the problem, they were great actually. Good out east, west and south. The LGA and Florida skeds were running well in regards to loads. The only base which happens to be in your neck of the woulds that was never doing so hot was YQM other than that thr load factor on the sked...

I'm not understanding this whole Airbus idea? What's the supposed benefit? Aside from having to retrain everyone to an airplane with the same capabilities or less than a 737. Man I've been screaming it from the rooftops already, and 37 drivers won't like it, but if CanJet wants to survive in a cons...

So this meeting on Tuesday, is this a normal scheduled meeting or is it something bigger than that? I for one miss seeing CanJet. lets see, the rumor mill says it could be just the announcement of the summer reduced domestic/charter sked, or when he is gonna shut er down for good, or Airbus's joini...

As a matter of fact I don't work for Westjet, if you read my first line i was giving him an option. I could of inserted any number of company names that all had the same four or five things that he said he liked about Canjet. So at the risk of saying mine is better than yours instead of westjet put ...

I'm one of the last guys on the old seniority list and I got my "stand-by for further information" message from the Personnel office last week. I guess this means that they are quickly running out of guys and girls to recall and that initials are probably not that far away. If recalled, I will be o...

GB,Josh, when you look at your numbers and add commuting and higher housing costs CJ is a good job for both seats and most of the gang I have spoken to are also glad to be back and like working at CJ. I understand you are also trying to get back so good luck. Some of the posts appear to want CJ to ...

I believe the reason for them going for the higher age is the fact that most of the major airlines have restructured their retirement and pension plans. Therefore a lot of the pilots have to work longer to make up for the shortage in their pension plans.

Spot, You might sat they are losers, but to the people at Canjet that tried to make the job as a professional pilot in Canada a better job, I give kudos too. Canjet pilots were overworked, under payed, had barely any benifits (ie, no dental) yet strived to provide a great service. Now to see people ...

Actually rickenbacker, during the press conference he mentioned that that they will focus on the charter market but can look at doing a limited sked service while not on peak charter season. Don't have the quote but the one above i think was pretty much it.

Canjet doesnt have a really bad mark against its name. What did they do? They announced a stop to their domestic service. They gave a warning (a small one) and then refunded the money. No one was left at a terminal, or another country and no one was cheated out of their money. There might be a thou...

Trainer, That was a good post, for what its worth my girlfriend says i'm an idiot as well sometimes. I guess when we've worked hard for this company in the past it is hard to keep emotions in check. Some Ex Canjetters feel lied too, cheated again. A lot of stress was put on the guy/gals and their fa...

Re: CanJet

Calm down guys. 1st of all, I do not work for CJ, but I do know some of boys. But your right, I don't know any more than anyone else, which was my point, the speculation you guys were putting out there to the whole world is likely incorrect and not based on fact. 2nd, I can only go by what was anno...

1 more point. Trainer how do YOU know that Canjet wasn't making any money. I believe it was, just not enough to satisfy a giant parent company. If you read everything that KR has said is that it wasn't meeting its goals. Not once did he say it wasn't making money. Please fill the rest of us in on ho...

Trainer, You know as well as the rest of the pilots at Canjet that money WASN"T the reason over 90% signed the cards. It was days off, no weekends off as well as pitifull benifits. I think and you will agree that very few complained about the money. Most complained of the lack of benifits, a crappy ...

A question for those who still had time left on their training bond! was there a clause that if you got laid off it was null and void? It will be interesting to see if they try to recoup any monies by going after any called back pilots who got jobs elswhere! The pilots were never laid off, all but ...

I listened to the news conference and overall thought it wasn't too bad. The one thing that sort of sucked was when he said that Canjet over the 4 years wasn't meeting its objective's. When all that we heard was over the same period was that we wern't making any profits but meeting our objectives. A...

Re: Here goes...

My take on the whole situation is that Westjet are now planning to operate their own flights to the southern destinations under their own "westjet vacations / airlines" umbrella. If this is the case, then it could be assumed that Westjet would want out of the Transat deal to do their own thing. Eve...
