Re: Canada not ruling out stake in Canadian airlines...

On the upside, maybe the current Liberals will nationalize the entire airline industry. Government employees seem to get good pensions, wage raises and benefits. Maybe everyone will finally get a raise and work one day less a month. Dare to dream. :) We can buy planes from... I don't know, maybe the...

Re: Canada not ruling out stake in Canadian airlines...

Hard to imagine when Air Canada is losing $2 billion per quarter. I can just imagine what Westjet loses. Have a nice day. Gino Would you imagine that, at 1/3rd the size of Air Canada, that WestJet would lose more, or less than the Air Canada number you quoted? The government could invest in airport...

Re: Westjet slashes Service to Maritimes

Good news everyone.... Swoop will be flying all those routes in the very near future.

I really need a sarcasm font... except it's not really sarcasm. I think it will happen, but it will be more like cruel irony or... something along those lines.

He has a free (taxpayer funded) private airplane he's made more use of in his first year in office than the previous government did in 4 years... why would he care if the filthy masses have access to travel? Better if they don't.

Re: Lesson Learned, Unionize!!!

AC had problems because they were forced to buy a dead-in-the-water airline called Canadian. Riddled with debt. Why was AC forced to buy Canadian? Canadian was putting together the financing to buy AC and the federal government blocked the deal. In exchange for blocking Canadian from buying AC (bec...

Lisa Rait, Jon Baird, TFWs, draconian duty days. Nope. I don’t miss him one bit. Because we never had bad labour Ministers forcing people back to work, crappy foreign affairs Ministers failing at their job (or idolizing China's communist government), TFW's or draconian duty days under any Liberal g...

Well, unless you were there, your opinion means nothing, and you weren't there because you already said you don't and haven't flown WestJet... Unless you are lying about that.

Re: WJ calls in the Swat Team on Maskless Toddler

I'm not going to armchair this event because I was not there and don't have all the facts. Not being a commercial pilot, the analogy I see is this -- the paying passenger point of view -- remember the customer in all of this discussion? I'm sitting down to dinner at a nice steakhouse with my family....

Re: Liberals may target the Transportation sector with very hefty Carbon taxes.

I'm curious if people are (1) opposed to a carbon tax because they don't believe that it will actually help clean up the problem or (2) because they don't believe that the government can be trusted to use it for that purpose? Or do people (3) believe climate change is a hoax? 1. Yes. Take Chloroflu...

You are right. It's just that the history they are trying to repeat is that of Air Canada. Treat your employees badly, treat your customers badly, then go bankrupt.

Perhaps no one on here was actually a WJ pilot and they were actually among those who were laid off.

I'm not collecting government assistance, WJ is. I get paycheck from WJ, not the government. Jeesus...and you're operating an aircraft? I noticed you did not answer a single question asked of you. One can only conclude that you are incapable of giving an answer, choosing instead to attempt a person...

Management didn't try to paint pilots as the devil, Yes, they did. Just look at your animosity. I'd say they were very effective. ya'll did that when you lined the road on investors day. I am genuinely curious about why you think the pilots did that picket? What, in your mind, was their motivation?...

Re: Will Westjet survive?

Lots of foreign pilots out there looking for work... Ah yes, the infamous foreign pilot boogeyman. I guess I should be quivering in my space boots at the very ring of their laughter. Accepting what ever working conditions and pay cuts which are offered to me rather than trying to improve my life. I...
