Re: Westjet Buys 67 Boeing Planes
Honestly, there's not point in projecting into the future with WJ. Maybe it'll grow like a weed. Maybe it'll shrink. What will happen for certain is, we'll get a new CEO and everything being done and planned now will be erased and replaced with the vision of the new CEO. All this has happened before...

Con: Larger income disparity .- American Dream. Work hard, get rewarded. Weird concept eh American environmental rule s.- ?? Higher healthcare costs to the individual .- Promote healthy, active lifestyles. Net i bet you pay more in Canada. or work hard to get a great benefits providing job. Worse s...

Re: Would you vote for Canada to become part of the US
Meanwhile our par dollar destroyed manufacturing exports in Ontario. No oil boom could even come close to replacing that loss. Oh no! Canadians had purchasing power! This will not do! Bring back the 65¢ CAD immediately. It's the only possible way Ontario can compete! I'm certain that the ar...

I think WJ should ONLY hire AR pilots.
Just fully commit to an all 65+ workforce and domestic schedule.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion about what is, and what is not a pro or con, as this is a personal thing. I disagree with your assessment and find your logic flawed. So neither of us will be convincing the other our point is correct. My view is correct for me, and your view is correct for...

Just a little extra thought into all those tax numbers. I find it is a problem in Canada that when one talks about taxes that they only think of income taxes. There are also; sales taxes; property taxes; carbon taxes; gas taxes; payroll taxes; CPP; EI; (depending on which province you live in) taxes...

Re: Why Won't You Come to WestJet?
Got to the airlines earlier and yet the absurd COL negates all financial benefits of being able to do so. If you’re a 65 year old boomer who feels the need to hold things up for younger generations to progress in their careers you’re either beyond ignorantly selfish and/or you’re making other peopl...

Re: Why Won't You Come to WestJet?
Don't go to an airline that allows pilots over 65 to continue flying and cherry picking domestic flights thereby stagnating movement up the list. Get rid of that in CA3. Says the young and impatient who get to the airlines 10-15 years younger than their predecessors... Anyone want to take bets on t...

Never!
That winglet will still be sporting a "Flyswoop.com" advertisement for a website that doesn't exist for the life of that airplane. Oh yeah baby!
Good opportunity for someone to grab that web address for their own nefarious advertising interests.

Re: AMEs Done
After four decades of hearing managers talk about market value wages, they are now complaining when the market forces shifted in favour of the employee groups. Thanks to inflation, everyone but the executives have taken a real wage cut. We have a long way to go to get back to where we should be, and...

Re: When to come back to canada
Get the Canadian ATPL back up and running if you haven't already done so, then I'd start sending resumes as soon as you want to move to Canada (since it sounds like you have the right to work here part of the puzzle in place). A quick google search of operators and their various pay scales should do...

Re: When to come back to canada
The short answer is probably yes. Depending on how many hours you have it is very likely you could slide right into a 737 job. The long answer, which seat? Because it's very likely going to be the right seat at year one pay because that's how it works here. Some operaterators have quicker upgrades t...

This was inevitable.
If the pilots wages were all that was keeping that airline alive, it was dead already. No mention of the doubling of administrative costs like executives, managers, etc. contributing to the demise of this company.

I know that Accountant was a troll. Probably a troll paid and employed by WJ or it's 3rd parties.
Just a parting shot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Uv1xN91Wek

Hats? This was about hats? Make sure you get plenty of scrambled eggs on those hats. They look really good with scrambled eggs. Old timers will recall the laughs we used to have about the old, tired tradition of pilots hats in the early days of WestJet. It was a badge of honor to have the leather f...

Who cares if the troll thinks they have won? They want a reaction not approval, no answer means no more dopamine. Stop answering them. Normally, I 100% agree with you. In this case we have one half propaganda that I cannot let stand and one half attempting to union bust. If account even exists afte...

The ONLY time I see that clown’s posts is when you folks quote him/her. The ‘add foe’ option is great. It shows they post, but not the content. If all of you folks who stop feeding the obvious trolls, they wouldn’t be able to get whatever need they get fulfilled by trolling. Certainly a viable opti...

Re: Recent WestJet ALPA video for all pilots
It’s quite frightening to see that we have a bunch of pilots who can’t think dialectically. Instead, we have a pilot group who thinks in black and white and that their perspective is king. Unfortunately and fortunately,( depending on what side of the fence you’re sitting.) The company’s perspective...
