"Companies get the union they deserve." - Clive Beddoe. I wonder why WJ has unions today? ________ ↑ That is a pretty disappointing post Realitychex. Here's how that reads: Executives never make mistakes. Ever. All problems are because of the lazy employees. If anything goes wrong, it's the employee...

Best to just stay in the market unless you have a reason to exit such as retiring or needing the cash. Re: 2020 Hiring

At least at Swoop you could see the left seat in less than a decade. I suppose it depends on what is important to you in life, having the ego trip of four bars or making money? If you can't stand to be an FO, I guess you go to Swoop and make FO wages. Or, you go to mainline and out-earn a swoop cap...

Did it occur to you that they may be arriving over higher terrain and approaching downhill? So, a 1000 foot call by a RAD ALT might not be 1000 feet above the touch down zone elevation? Your stabilized approach criteria are not the rest of the worlds stabilized approach criteria. I suggest you see y...

Re: Tim Croyle to retire from WestJet

Hey?! Don't the employees need to give 3 months notice when they retire? This guy is less than a month and Gregg "retired effective immediately." There seems to be a different set of standards being applied to certain animals at the farm... as though some animals are more equal than others. :)

Doesn't Air Canada have something like 800 open bids for the coming PSB? People getting A220 Captain in Vancouver after 12 months?

Re: 50th Anniversary of Moon Landing

It’s sad that it’s no longer the limits of technology that hold us back, but the ability to pay for it. No. It's not the lack of ability to pay for it, it's the lack of will to pay for it. Project Apollo, backed by sufficient funding, was the tangible result of an early national commitment in respo...

I have heard that Clive is going to take the money from this sale and team up with Tim to finally launch that new Ultra Low Cost Carrier. I heard Mark is joining in and they will be flying NEO's. AC and WJ's days are numbered.

Hey SPR there are lots of tissues in the jet, looks like you could use some. Sounds like a lot of fun being with you on a 4 day. It's not your fellow pilots that you should be angry with. If pilots deprive me of my current standing on the One List, then that's exactly who I'll be angry with. Who el...

I see a post filled with anger and bitterness and decided it needed to be called out. I sometimes wonder what the Encore people have been told because there are often expectations that are not anywhere in the agreements and a lot of anger because "promises" are not being kept. Re: One list

For pilots who have already flowed, there's a vested interest in approving the LOU, because of it's rejected they'll at the very least lose vacation entitlement; depending on interpretation of Kaplan's award, they might also drop down in seniority behind any OTS pilots who started before they flowe...

You will never be allowed to work in the US. Not because the US doesn't want you to work there. I don't think they really care very much, you are not even on their radar. There is a reason that Pilots are always left off things like NAFTA talks... it's that the Canadian government is being very heav...

https://y.yarn.co/9ff97e10-a143-4024-8547-ff1aeca7ab81.mp4?1551919979299 I hope you can understand my confusion because I was told Swoop was a separate company and the pilots are paid roughly 50% less to fly the exact same aircraft. The people of the 60's, 70's and 80's fight to end segregation and give everyone equal access to the world... so that people of the Teen's can fight to re-segregate the world and make everything separate again. Interesting cycle.

I'm off to my safe space.

Does anyone else feel a growing sense of betrayal over the delay in implementing duty regulation changes? There is a problem. They have admitted it by nearly pulling the trigger on changes twice since 2014. Four years later we still wait. Money above safety. Shameful. When an accident happens due t...
