Looks like a fantastic resource, keep it up!
I also just want to give a thumbs up for the recommendation of Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators, it's a truly excellent text.

Daily air times total in the tech logs?

My airframe tech log had daily air totals entered by the previous owner. My reading of the CARs is that this is not necessary, am I mistaken? If it is required, which is the regulation stating it? If it is not required, is it good practice to continue doing so? Bonus question: if my friend flies my ...

I did my PPL at CSS3 and during that time I heard of an instance of a blown tire due to the runway condition.
When I did my flight test, the examiner seemed very nervous any time we moved over the runway surface.
Exercise caution is all I'm saying!

Yes, you need a beacon or strobe. How about instruments and lighting? Do you have a lit panel? There is a light that illuminates the panel as a whole (though weak). Is that sufficient?
