Re: ATPL Application process tips
PPC or group 1 IPC or group 1 initial within past year PPC can be level C/D sim group 1 IPC in aircraft Group 1 Mandatory on a Level D Sim? I have a PC12NG PPC ride on Level D in 2 weeks. Last flight test was IFR in Sept 2022 Whether it's on a level D or an aircraft, it has to be group 1. Your PC12...

it's not a bad idea to have one but it's not required for the ACP to give you a copy

+1 for Aerocourse. They don't have an IATRA specific book from what I remember though so their ATPL book would be your best bet

 That's what I made as a BE3B FO there about15 years ago. Just to keep up with inflation that job would have to pay 50 k today. So pay has basically gone down 30% in that time. Is it still Pan Can Petroleum's old bird PCP? I believe PCP has made its way to Airco now. Been there for a couple ...

Mitchinson flight centre in Saskatoon, they have two C310s. Went there to renew group 1 and got it all done in 24 hours. Could be worth the trip out

From what I hear the pay is pretty average for charters, 35K a year on a KA350. So prob a little more on a lear. I don't think you work much though. That's what I made as a BE3B FO there about15 years ago. Just to keep up with inflation that job would have to pay 50 k today. So pay has basi...

Re: Carson Air
Carson was awarded the BC medevac contract within the past year which opened up a few new bases for them and it doesn't seem like they've had much luck staffing those bases. Or the others for that matter. When I think of Carson I can't help but think of that Metro that flew into the North Shore moun...

Re: Canwest Air
As far as medevac jobs go, I'd say it's a pretty good gig. The king air side of things at canwest is a pretty legit operation. They have nice airplanes (new in 2017, proline fusion, a bunch of upgrades), lots of resources around the province such as AMEs at most of their 8 bases, hangars at all 8 if...

Re: Northern operator as a first job?
Go for it. It will probably be the most fun job you ever have. Tindi and Keewatin sound like solid options. Wasaya or Superior have good progression within the company too. Canwest in Alberta has a good government medevac contract for the next 5 years or so, they have good equipment and hire a fair ...

Hello Everyone. I recently set up a 45-minute screening interview with Lynx Air. Since this is my first 705 operation interview, I would welcome any information on current interview questions and helpful hints for interview preparation. Thank you I did the interview last week. It was just one HR la...

Re: Lynx Hiring process
Oh my god, Lynx make people do a second interview? That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard this week. ‘Tell us why your dream is work for a bottom-feeder ULCC making the lowest 737 wages on the planet’. I didn't think it was that much of an ask, both were video interviews so not much of a time commitm...

Re: IPC ( instrument proficiency check)
I'd recommend Mitchinson Flight Centre in Saskatoon if you need it done on an aircraft. I did two flights one afternoon and the IPC the next morning. All done within 24hrs. They were great about organizing the ACP ahead of time even when they didn't know me. Some schools i reached out to wouldn't li...

Re: "VALID" Group 1 IFR rating ( inlusive of the IPC - instrument proficiency check)
What approaches are needed now on the IPC? ILS and GNSS approaches? Thanks and what does the ride in the simulator look like these days? You need one traditional navaid approach and one GNSS. One of them has to be done without vertical guidance. I did one an IPC a week ago, did a SID, then unusual ...

Pay ranges from about 45k, up to a little north of 100k. Where you fall in that range will depend on total time, relevant experience, etc. FO's work 2 weeks on, 1 week off. Capt are either 1 week on, 1 week off, or 2 weeks on 2 weeks off depending on base. Hours flown depends on base too, anywhere f...
