Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?

Take a read on the Skyregional forum on this very website. It would appear that from a scheduling perspective everyone there is miserable. Jeez you’d figure the extra $8 an hour that the new hires make would negate that...

Re: Union at Sky

Do you even have an MEC yet? And I’m pretty sure You don’t even have a collective agreement yet. Your work and schedule rules will be written into the collective agreement. Once ratified then you can enforce the collective agreement with crew planning/crew scheduling. Until then aren’t you still ope...

Re: Esop reduction..

I don’t know how many bloody times this has to be explained, but here goes again: YYCjetdriver I assume you work for a carrier that owns its Flying? Like probably WestJet? Well in that case your Pilots would be well advised to not sign a long term contract - keep the terms as short as possible. Howe...

Re: Esop reduction..

Maybe if you had been on the negots committee through the back and forth of 2018 you might be more entitled to the disparaging remarks you are making. The AC spot for Jazz pilots is never guaranteed- I was given a PFO during the PML 1.0 process which was supposed to be a “sure thing”. The max 10% PF...

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

“It still blows my mind that people don't understand how tax works.“ It is entirely possible that yycjetdriver knows exactly how tax works, however like the YYC chairman he prefers to spew bullish!t to further his own smear campaign of the JAZ MEC. Hell its even possible that yycjetdriver IS the Cha...

Re: Deal or No Deal?

You will have a far better chance of getting hired under the PML contained in the new contract than the current one. Current PFO rate somewhere between 20-50%. New contract will be max 10% PFO. Don’t believe me? Go to a roadshow and/or open house, view the roadshow video when it comes out on the 23r...

Re: Deal or No Deal?

Hey outlaw what’s your plan when Calin tells you to shove your no vote up your ass and proceeds to wind Jazz down to 2025? What about the 1500 pilots and families that the MEC has to look out for? The MEC does not roll the dice with it’s members’ careers. Maybe if you are financially secure or don’t...

Re: Deal or No Deal?

This is kind of like a pay it forward type of thing. Do onto others as you’d have done onto you etc. The Jaz MEC is trying to set a standard of respect for fellow Alpa pilots at the Express brand who are(through no fault of their own) aboard a sinking ship. To my fellow Jazz pilots, if Jazz fell on ...

Re: Are we entering another recession?

The only mitigating factor this time is the retirements that will sustain pilot hiring even if every airline in Canada were to completely stop growing due to a recession

Had anyone been able to determine if the new “bottle to report time” regulation(ie 12hrs) is effective immediately or also subject to an implementation timeline of 2/4 years?

Re: Thoughts on ACPA Joining ALPA...

Adamus is the current President of Alpa’s Canada Board. As such he represents the interests of the 5500 pilots across the 12 Alpa airlines in Canada. Some of these airlines fly smaller aircraft than Jazz and some fly larger. Some have unique challenges flying in remote northern operations. Acpa and ...

Re: Pass fees

Ok you must not be a commuter and/or rarely use your passes. Otherwise you would be feeling the pinch of pass travel being used as a revenue generating machine by mothercorp.
Passes at WestJet, Transat and virtually all US carriers are a fraction of what they are in Canada

Well then Home Depot is an anomaly because the vast majority of companies provide the product/service they provide at a discount to those that help make/provide the service(ie the employees). Also the difference in price that AC mainline employees pay vs that which Express employees pay is an issue....

+1 Stay away from Sky Regional. Things are really bad right now. The 10 yr CPA extension is such a joke. If a company was good, 13 captain's wouldn't quit in one week.
Just curious what you mean by the 10 year CPA extension being a “joke”. I would have thought that would be good news?

Re: Rumor about %30 pay increase

I have flown with several pilots now who have been pFO'd on PML 2.0 and a couple who were similarly rejected on PML1.0. All have been excellent people and excellent pilots some even with degrees. Meanwhile I have watched some absolute douchebags get hired by AC. It makes for a very quiet cockpit and...
