Re: Pass fees

Ok you must not be a commuter and/or rarely use your passes. Otherwise you would be feeling the pinch of pass travel being used as a revenue generating machine by mothercorp.
Passes at WestJet, Transat and virtually all US carriers are a fraction of what they are in Canada

Re: Pass fees

Well then Home Depot is an anomaly because the vast majority of companies provide the product/service they provide at a discount to those that help make/provide the service(ie the employees). Also the difference in price that AC mainline employees pay vs that which Express employees pay is an issue....

+1 Stay away from Sky Regional. Things are really bad right now. The 10 yr CPA extension is such a joke. If a company was good, 13 captain's wouldn't quit in one week.
Just curious what you mean by the 10 year CPA extension being a “joke”. I would have thought that would be good news?

Re: Rumor about %30 pay increase

I have flown with several pilots now who have been pFO'd on PML 2.0 and a couple who were similarly rejected on PML1.0. All have been excellent people and excellent pilots some even with degrees. Meanwhile I have watched some absolute douchebags get hired by AC. It makes for a very quiet cockpit and...

I didn't realize that AC did so much Cargo lift in the first place, but Obviously they were doing enough to be a divisive let in your collective agreement. As far a strengthening Article 1, does that refer to scope? Were there any changes to the long term plans for the 25 remaining E190?

Ya gotta love aviation. Can you imagine a doctor or lawyer starting out and being advised to stay away from a hospital or firm because it "will ruin you financially"? Of course not, because you either 1: wouldn't go there in the first place because there are so many other places that would treat you...

So you are talking about the Colgan crash and how it "forced" the FAA to change the minimum requirements to 1500hrs to be an FO on a >19 seat operator. Here is the rub...that crash was not caused by inexperience, but rather fatigue because the crew(including the Capt) was so bloody underpaid that th...

Did they validate your Canadian license or did you have to do the full Australian license? Pay/benefits...

Re: Airline executives resign after ‘drunken’ pilot allowed into cabin of plane with 154 passengers

Other than the pilot, the ones that should lose their jobs over this are the security personnel who allowed a totally hammered pilot to clear their checkpoint. I honestly don't understand what the airline executives have to do with this. Unless they were aware that this guy had an existing drinking ...

Re: CRJ VS Q and Classic

Once the monthly schedules are published, you can use FLica to trade, drop or add flying from other bases. If there was enough open time available in another base, you could theoretically drop all your DH400 flying in YYZ and replace it with all DH4 YUL based flying. Of course you would be responsib...

Re: Air Canada Pool

Part of the PML language was that the only personal information that was supposed to be divulged by Jazz to AC was one's training file. Attendance/disciplinary information was not supposed to be shared. However I sincerely doubt if that was actually adhered to when processing PML candidates. The rea...

The FPML(PML 2.0) will not be attractive to anyone with any amount of seniority at Jazz. It will not have any FIP(Flow incentive pay/pay protection). It will just be a guaranteed interview at AC, in order of seniority and in proportion to the size of each AC express carrier. So just a continuation o...

Just curious if you had bothered putting your name on the PML. If you, like myself, had put your name on the PML and got PFO'ed, then no regrets. But right about now, if you live in YYZ, AC is a much better place to be then Jazz
