Re: Meet Swoop - WestJet's ultra-low-cost carrier has a name, a home and a purpose
Agree'd. I was just saying I think that the vast majority at Encore do not want to undercut the pilots at Mainline if we had a chance to flow to Swoop - if that's how the company plans on filling the seats. As you said, everything still has to be negotiated and nothing is on the table. Good luck guys.

Re: Meet Swoop - WestJet's ultra-low-cost carrier has a name, a home and a purpose
65%? The last thing anyone at Encore wants to do is flow to a ULCC with FO wages bordering the poverty line and Capt wages no better than a TTC bus driver and prolong the 19 day a month misery, when all we hoped was to eventually flow to mainline with decent WAWCON. That's the whole point isn't it? ...

Re: New TA?
So essentially, this TA allows Rouge to grow at the expense of Mainline NB flying?
When you put it that way it doesn't sound good at all, but obviously there is more to it than that.

Noticed that one too, although there isn't an official job posting on the Air Canada website.

Re: Encore take home pay?
Nothing has been put forward in terms of WAWCON for the ULCC, let alone anything set in stone yet. The last thing the vast majority of us want to do is flow over to the ULCC for less than what the Boeing is paying now. At the end of the day an airplane is an airplane, improving working conditions go...

Re: Sunwing is hiring seasonal pilots
I applied twice on the previous posting, and never heard back either. 120 positions is a lot to fill, do you think they'll hire European pilot's exclusively? or a mix of Canadians and Europeans? I'm guessing the pool of NG rated pilots in Canada willing to go to Sunwing on a temporary contract is qu...

Re: Air Canada Interviews
What companies have some of the recent new hires come from? Is it a good mix or a large number of CMA/GGN? Just a low-ish time guy trying to figure out his next move!

Mellow is dead on, it's around 78%. The courses you take are all worth a different number of credits (i.e. math is worth 4 credits but most of the aviation courses are only worth 1, minus human factors which is 3) and from that each grade percentage = a certain number of credits in the GPA; 50-60% i...

I understand where your all coming from, you had to work many hard years paying your dues to get where you are today. Dunno man, I applied last week and sent my transcripts in a couple of days ago, so i'm expecting to hear back something soon. The lady at the registrars office said the chance for someone out of province getting in is low unless the program isn't over subscribed--which it usually is, so hopefully fo...
