Re: Wear your goddamn lanyard!
Gents (etal), from a post Cathay point of view, lanyards did F*ck all, and our sh*t committee never managed to turn back the first offer. The only marginal success that was achieved came when we scared them. Seeing how much you all fight and bicker here, I reckon you're going down the CX path. Only ...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
I literally had my interview at the US embassy yesterday. If you look at my post history, you can see I have been on this for about a year now. I tried the Frontier route first, but they couldn't make visa work. Finally I know have it. (and a job on a wide body in US) But yeah.. I have 5 figure logg...

As a Canadian typed on B737 working overseas... Why on earth would I accept Sunwing's pay.
A B737Capt can earn 15-20K a month easy. No tax, US dollars.
If Canadian airlines don't act, it's over. We live in a global market.

Re: Working Abroad is the Only Way I can Justify A Career as a Pilot.
Which websites/agencies would you recommend for a Canadian airline pilot looking for expat opportunities? I am desperate to leave Canada as I can no longer support my family on the wages here. Not trying to be a jerk, but if you can't support your family here, it's unlikely that you will be able to...

Re: Working Abroad is the Only Way I can Justify A Career as a Pilot.
I left Canada at 3500hrs or so to be a Expat. I have earned multiples of the salary that could ever be earned in Canada. I am married to a non-Canadian, I have dined inside the pyramids in Giza, been 'married' in a ceremony in Angkor Wat Cambodia, lived from Europe to Middle East to Asia. It's been ...

Re: Adding a Type Rating from a foreign Licence to a TC ATPL
Hello All, I was wondering if someone has any experience adding their foreign type ratings on a Canadian TC ATPL. What’s the process? What if you haven’t flown on type for more than 12 months? Etc Thanks I was told that only FAA type ratings can be converted in Canada. FALSE. I have entered type fr...

I just wrote it.. took :30 minutes. 90 % of it was HR Q's.. "If you're @ a party and don't know everyone are you: SHY 0 0 0 0 0 Confident (fill-in the circle ) The last bit were some weird shape things.. Re: ATPL for co-pilots on a 705 Aircraft
Previously I was a Senior A320 Captain training 200Hr FO's on the Airbus. At 1500hrs they were much better than any Canadian FO's that had come up thru instructing/floats/703/704... Way too many bad habits to change. A rising tide lifts all boats. We need what happening to change this B*S Canadian n...

Re: Are Flow Agreements Illegal / Anti-competetive?
Right now it's already evident most float/ 703 employers are struggling. I've never seen 120K jobs with minimal requirements of a CPL. Pasco/ Perimeter/ CMA are all in need but are finding almost enough guys, with constant attrition. If this USA thing becomes real, you're going to see AC and WJ acce...

I did mine in 04' as part of the B747 course I was on in MIA.. the only extra cost was the medical and the GLEIM (SP?) course for the written test. In my mid 40's now I can tell you it's paid off so many times. Short BBJ contracts, ferrying a N reg.. The FAA ATP is infinitely more valuable than Cana...

My buddy just got the nod. Fast process, no bullsh8t. He, of course had a FAA with a A320 rating. I'm down here already, but as a previous 320 Skipper like him, I have just thrown my name in. Brookfield took 12 hrs to get back to me, I'm hoping to be on the October course. There will a rush of folks...

Wasaya offering less than a Keewatin PC12 gig for a Captain; less than a 2 week in/ 2 week off King Air gig.
A lot of operators are going to not fill seats as others adapt.
Pasco is a great gig, but the money is a hold up.

Re: Direct entry captains at Canadian 705
I've worked for two carriers overseas that won't touch a Vietjet guy.
If his resume crossed my desk here in Canada he wouldn't get a second look either.
Paying 10K or more was the only way forward there. Paid PCs, paid medicals, pay everything.. laughable to a western person.

My wife and I have Seattle Numbers thru Tmobile 20 GB each, unlimited calling/text in US/Canada
$40 each. Thats it.
If you are using a Canadian carrier you are missing the boat.

try cycling thru the FBO for 6-7hrs of sleep and a shower.. Then live out of your car.
