ANR-Style Headsets

Quick query to anyone who has flown them - regarding Cessna 337's - Should I be finding an ANR-style headset, or is my std-issue (passive) Sennheiser going to save my ears?

New C4, long story sideways - being a realist with the numbers (Not optimist, not pessimist) $15,705 is what I expect to make in the course of 12 months.

For information on *HOW* I got that number, PM me. Reasons explain upon PM

Oh, I understood why/what you were saying Cat, it was more of a silly/reinforcing question. (Also... oh yeah, cricri's are single-place... I really need to open the vault of knowledge before posting stupid statements...)

So Cat, what you're saying is, if I could find one, you would suggest doing a float rating on a twin mini-turbine powered cri-cri?

Re: FLOAT RATING SCHOOLS?

I did my canoe-plane rating with Air Hart. From what I've heard, they're one of the better FTU's for learning how to fly off of water, and their reputation helps a bit.

But I only have 600 hrs... what do I know.

dont work the ramp thats the worst way to start this career, that means taking phone calls, dusting the counters....etc your a pilot act like one Wow... just wow. Re: What are the general employment trends looking like?

I know it sounds defeatist, but I think if your just starting out then you should change careers now. In my mind, now is actually an awesome time to start. While most people will say it's a piss-poor time to start, if you start now, you should have the training you need by the time it recovers / th...

Re: Low time pilot jobs

Sitting at home and sending resumes is the first step, not the only step. You can't expect to get a call back just by emailing or faxing a resume. Remember, there are hundreds other guys like you, many who will be more qualified than you. Quoted for Truth. Not to be harsh... but... if all you do, i...

Re: FAA Study Material

I'm confused on the restricted FAA license. Is it because you don't have an IFR rating? You can download the programs you need for about the same price as the book, and it's ready, instead of waiting to get the book in the mail, or having to head out to get it. The "restricted" FAA license is when ...

FAA Study Material

So, I've looked around, and come up with nothing...

I have a "Restricted" FAA license, looking to write their airlaw to get it "Unrestricted". Also, Study material on FAA version of INRAT would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Prop strike...

If I have a prop strike on a 172, is it mandatory to have an engine/prop overhaul/replacement, or is it just "strongly advised". Keep in mind, this is a commercially registered aircraft.

Also, if it is mandatory, any pointers on where in the CARS it is?

Thanks!

Re: 406MHz ELTs

If DND/TC want to put the 406 primarily to reduce their costs, then they should defray some of the costs to us private owners. -- So... more airport usage taxes then? Just like Nav Can (Or was it TC?) being sued for 95,000... once again, they'll defray / subsidize their cost... to the end user. Hurr...

well, we have a hanger, just maintenence style. what're we doing without one? I dunno... talk to YOW management. apparently (from what I've been told, 3rd+ hand knowledge) they won't let us build any more hangerage... which seems a little bizzare, considering Sanders is expanding their building.

eterepekio - ottawa. is you consider that "southern" ontario. I wouldn't. And yes, up at 0500 to get someones' plane ready because they want to go right at 0700 because that's what time we open, a bit annoying, but feh. I don't get paid to complain.

If you're at "home base", then imo, there should be staff there to clean the aircraft. I have a fleet of 10 A/C, and within an hour and a half, unless it's frozen rain, and there's more than 1/2" of ice on it, I'll have everything in flyable condition in 1.5. It's not a hard concept to understand. A...

better yet... why would you "run"? Relatively, speeding is a game. In the city, it's pointless, but going from ottawa -> toronto, or further, it becomes quite beneficial; but if you can't pay the ticket/don't have the demerit points on your license... then do the speed limit? Are all bikers like tha...
