Re: Support Westjet AME's

No, you are wrong, AME’s can command very high wages in other similar industries with very little cross training.

Re: Notice: Effective July 1, 2024, Vertical Forums will be officially shut down

If you folks are really interested in keeping it going, there is a company called VerticalScope, I believe based out of Toronto. They have been buying up lots of specialty forums over the last few years. A couple years back they bought up one I was a long time user of for one of my hobbies, there w...

Re: If not AME then??

Companies are on the ropes a bit from the lack of experienced personnel left due to the aforementioned, but I’m sure most will get by with 50 first year ames to one 20 year veteran until they run out of first years (that’s coming down the pipe, very low attendance at Colleges in the last few years)...

Depends on your point of view I suppose. Ends June 11. The vast majority have already voted. This is fifty years overdue. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if onex somehow brought in scabs, I’m seeing a ton of Westjet AME ads everywhere right now. Bunch of first year licenses and rushed type endorse...

From what I understand is covid really pushed back aviation and a lot of licensed AMEs retired.. now us students are having a very hard time finding apprenticeships that aren't 4000km+ away. It's a bit daunting really. MrFixit.... You aren't wrong. To be honest tho its been my experience that not m...

An email to TC could verify what is current. They are very behind in their licensing process from what I was told via our company TC inspector.
TC is a mess after the pandemic, I doubt we will see any accurate stats for a few years.

Is the mythical pilot shortage real. I already got a pay raise, is it rude to ask for another a month later? There has never been a shortage EVER, there is a shortage of people willing to work for 🐕 💩 domestically however. Now these awesome operators are leaning even harder than ever on TFW’s for n...

Serisouly though. It looked liked they counted medicals that were done in office. Phone in medicals and attestations i don't think got counted.

Vertical probably got tired of the nasty grams from lawyers on the behalf of companies coming his way. I don't feel vertical had any interest in getting in the middle of a what is free speech. I don't blame him, just a small company trying to scratch out a living. To bad really. Web forums are a gr...
