Re: Will Westjet survive?

I don't think any business starts out with planing to fail or shut down. I'm fairly certain Canadian Airlines would love to still be in business today. I do think most companies seem to survive in-spite of themselves rather than because of themselves. . Here, have a Snickers https://i.ytimg.com/vi/a...

Re: Will Westjet survive?

I find it interesting that there is no "Will Air Canada Survive" thread or it's equivalent on the Air Canada Forum. It seems that they are in the same industry and face the same issues and challenges. Is it that all Canadians just expect and know that the government will bail out AC no matter what a...

Well, isn't that special

What a nice idea. The sort of thing that gives one faith and trust in management and goes a little way toward showing culture is more than just a word.

So what you are saying is; WJ is going to give RJ's to Encore, the company that has "hard landed" 3, or is it 4, Dash 8's. OR; Subcontract the worst 705 operator in Canada to fly RJ's. What could possibly go wrong with that plan? In a day or two it won't matter as the vote will close and the issue n...

WestJet does not have leadership. WestJet has management.

Re: Remeber that F35 debate

The fighter jet replacement issue is just one of a litany of issues with this government. Here's a short list of some but not all issues I have with the current government: Minister lied about his job and resume, still a minister. (Defense minister) Minister lied about where she was born to get elec...

Re: Remeber that F35 debate

In my close to 70 yrs of living, I am not aware of any Government in this fair country that fell aka booted from office due to any issues directly related to military procurement up to and including our drama teacher and Harper redux(Scheer) - should he get the keys this year. Military has never su...

I guess the real question is: "Does Canada really need supersonic fighter jets?" Sadly, it appears we do. https://www.rferl.org/a/us-canadian-jets-scramble-escort-russian-blackjack-bombers-away/29733515.html https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2019/02/10/canada-should-not-ignore-russia-sending-fighter-je...

So chill out and stop putting words in my mouth. Fair enough. I apologize for that. My frustration with our "government" and its performance sometimes gets the better of me. ofr I'm tired of Federal governments, not just Trudeau's, wasting money and politicizing the contracts. I totally agree with ...

And yet even the Americans can't make heads or tails of it. https://taskandpurpose.com/pentagon-f-35-assessment-2018 S. Yes but, a former part time drama teacher said the F35 wasn't any good... and who would know more about military equipment than a former part time drama teacher with an ego so large he can't accept he may be wrong? I enjoyed the video. A great example that the more things change, the more things sta...

While I get the sentiment of "small government" what we really need is "enough government". After all, you can't say more military, but less government, what does one think the military is? I know, I know, it would be great if we could have less politicians, but I still want enough police, and regu...

There is a difference between "an opinion" and the lowbrow nicknames and insults that characterize the degree to which our political discourse has devolved to "petty infighting I agree, name calling is not helpful by either side. In the interests of parity I tried to look for some equivalently lowb...

Maybe present the facts and let people draw their own hyper partisan conclusions. Stopped reading after this also. On less polite forums this is known a...

Sad to say, must agree with the above post. I thought I had a not spectacular but still pretty good job at TC, and that is after a bankruptcy, looking for work. Was expecting a maybe routine and slightly boring bureaucratic job, but still, doing what the job requires and so what, life goes on, live...

I always had the legal right to negotiate unilaterally with my employer. Whether they would have agreed to my terms is not of consequence. The point is, I only lost those "legal" rights with certification. Fair enough if you want to look at it that way. I suspect you would not have been very succes...

Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?

Wrong argument On a quick 1 hour flight where the only thing served is bits and bites and a beverage, the plane does not have time to get dirty. So a crew grooming is not a burden. However, when doing 3 to 7 hour legs, serving boxed food, hot food and several beverage services, the plane becomes a d...

Depth perception is the only difference between brown nosing and ass kissing.
