Re: Positions available

The January 9th course was offered 12 EMJ FO, 3 A330 RP, 3 B767 RP, and 2 B777 RP. As for base, the EMJ was offered in YYZ, YUL, and YVR (no limit on any one base). The B767 and B777 were offered in YYZ and YVR (again, no limit on either base), and the A330 was in YVR. Still lots of room available i...

A friend of mine was PFO's a couple of years ago and hired this Summer. It can, and does happen. Good luck to all...

Re: January 9th, 2012

Medical was mid-October. Had to consult a specialist, which might have cost me the November course, but such is life. Looking ahead now, not behind! Good luck. :)

January 9th, 2012

In the interest of those who are waiting for the call from AC, calls have started going out for the January 9th course. Best of luck to all who are waiting...hope to see you there!! Despite all the uncertainty surrounding the current situation, it's still pretty exciting... :)

Re: Just got the call for an Interview!

Try cognitivefun.net or soakyourhead.com -- the 1-back test is similar to what you'll see on the cogscreen...some of the other memory and perception tests are good training as well. Good luck!

Re: Air Canada Interviews

If you're the least bit concerned, do yourself a favour and go to www.pilotcareercentre.com, and do the interview prep course. Worth every penny, in my opinion...

Good luck,

Re: Jazz hiring pool

Latest rumour is East...split between YYZ and YUL. Comes from many different sources (pilots, agents, airport manager-types)...

I guess we'll see soon enough.

Re: Sad State of T3 YYZ

Sudbury has a good little restaurant...husband/wife team bought it last year, and have done great things with the menu! All prepared fresh on site, too. :) As for the TC lunches in YUL...yup, they're one of the best deals out there! Too bad about the taxi stand, though...used to look forward to my s...

I'm guessing almost all Dash spots, by the time everything settles...lots of people have reinstatement rights, and a whole bunch of others just NEED to fly a jet. ;)

Re: Jazz Overtime

The other thing you need to know is that Jazz has no first-year Captains. When you go into the left seat, you carry your years of service over and slide into that pay scale. Right now, the junior Captain has nine years... thus, take a look at the nine-year Captain pay scale...

G'day...

Re: Pass travel footwear

We watched someone have a confrontation with an agent in Vancouver while on our way to San Diego a couple of months ago... the shoes he was wearing were quite similar to what you're referring to...might have been the same grouchy female agent!! She actually called her colleague over to check (humili...

Re: YEG - YYC at 9000 Ft

Hey ., how's it going? Hope the (not so) new job is treating you well... As for the filed altitude, there must have been a reason. Maybe it was winds, maybe it was reported turbulence...who knows. All I know is that in the last two weeks, I've done sixteen legs between YEG and YYC (they're a little ...

Re: quick Q's for Jazz pilots

No, he would have been going from RJ Captain to Dash Captain. Captaincy is purely a matter of seniority... there is no requirement to have experience on the airplane. As for why he was in the initial groundschool, if you've been off a certain aircraft for more than a certain period of time, you have...

Re: Is this how we treat people?

I have to reiterate, before I post this link, that most of my experiences commuting on Westjet have been great... Having said that, I am still baffled by the occasional lack of common sense. The other day, when landing in Thunder Bay from Toronto (on a flight that was continuing to YWG, YYC and YXX)...

Apparently the March course has 14 in it, so I'm told...

Welcome aboard, boys and girls...it's a good gig. Uncertain times ahead, but quite often pain at the mainline level has resulted in good things at the regional level. We'll wait and cross our fingers... :)

Re: Air Canada jazz pilots hours

., ., .... I don't think you're pissing any of us off, but it's a little surprising how quickly you became a Jet Pilot (please note the capital letters...Jet Pilots are VERY important)! ;) Most of us on the Dash don't feel as though we're missing out on anything. Personally, I'm a big fan of staying...

Re: Twin otter down in Nepal

I've been a passenger on a Twin Otter flying out of Lukla (was glad I hadn't flown in once I got a look at the airport), and I can tell you that it's quite a sight to behold. We stood on the ramp for a couple of hours, wondering if/when our plane would get in. On a day like the one where the acciden...

Re: YYZ Crash Pad Wanted

You looking for a crashpad or an apartment? Crashpads are places you don't generally stay more than a few nights a month (either before or after pairings)... usually available for 200/mth or less. If you're looking for a full-time home, you might be looking for something a little nicer. Either way, ...
