Re: Not Essential Enough

Well I would hope that two or three pilots would be able to do simple things like wash their hands unlike the hundreds unwashed masses in the back of the bus.

But maybe not given how many COVID deniers and anti maskers and instances of VD there are among pilots....

Re: Not Essential Enough

Just remember, when everyone is special: nobody is.

You also have the right to refuse dangerous work if you feel the risk is too high. Good luck!

Re: Catching a buzz. Not the good kind.

The irony is probably one of the complaints came from Karen on her cell phone who saw the plane out of the corner of her eye as she was applying her mascara going 50 MPH through a school zone in her Escalade. The police received multiple 911 calls about the aircraft making low passes over the town ...

Re: New severe Ontario Restrictions

RNA viruses are prone to mutation due to the lack of error correction mechanisms that DNA has. Ebola is one of the most deadly viruses in terms of case fatality rates, yet it hasn’t wiped out the human race in part because of how fast it mutates into something that is no longer harmful, because it i...

Re: Ontario schools to close after April break.

Social skills taught in school. I’m sure that I’m not alone that I would have been quite happy at dispensing with the exclusive social cliques and endless public humiliation at the hands of other students who may have had an excuse and public educators who definitely did not. My few successes in soc...

Re: Ontario schools to close after April break.

If teacher’s salaries were tied to them actually going to work... ...this policy would end, immediately.

They are one of the few groups in this pandemic that have had their work directly affected by it yet bore none of the financial burdens for it.

Re: Air Canada and Government of Canada Conclude Agreements on Liquidity Program

I remember when Westjet barely made it through the three or so days of closed airspace the Liberals enacted at the behest of the US Bush administration. Likewise the permanent addition of cockpit doors the Liberals enforced because of an FAA Airworthiness Directive and enhanced security measures whi...

Re: Liberal “ Green New Deal” includes Canada wide high speed rail and allows employees to transition out of high carbon

Add a single snowstorm into this and it will be real funny. I’m waiting for the first time some kids leave a couch on the rails. And don’t even think about building the tracks near the Rez. See... if you guys are arguing against high speed rail you have to come up with examples of things that...

Re: The media and covid.

rookie The problem with ICU beds and hospital resources is very real, but it’s indicative of a more systemic problem with our healthcare system and also much of it is reactionary due to media sensationalism. How? If you’re sick you’re sick? Well, lots of people self-medicate. They won’t go to a hosp...

Re: The media and covid.

All you have to do is follow the money. Follow people’s motivations. The media sells advertising. That’s why you watch or read most of them for “free”. They are hoping that you will be drawn in and click on one of the advertisers. The more interesting the news, the more likely people will read it an...

Re: WestJet statement on Goverment funding for AC

And that’s how capitalism works. I’m sure that the unemployed at Air Canada are just overjoyed that the Nomenklatura there only get 20 pilot salaries worth of compensation with their tax dollars that the government says will be returned... .but like a kid who’s grounded for a month that you see ridi...

Re: A victory for Canadian "aviation"

Likely most of the loans forgiven and probably at negative interest rates. 378 million in share buybacks the year before the pandemic, billions in the bank, and lots of customer cash for flights never flown, and millions in CEWS, and still layoffs and cutbacks. Your tax dollars at work. Mapleflot wa...
