Re: WestJet AIP
Look Bede, you do make some good points, the other gains were just bringing WJ back to the baseline minimum though, I do not understand why the seemingly vast majority of Canadian pilots in these bargaining situations always feel they have take the first offer. Look at the American pilots and the o...

Re: bumping first class passengers for deadhead crew
What kind of "paying first class passenger" are we referring to? E-upgrades or points upgrades or full fare J passenger? And how do you know that anyone was bumped by a pilot? Some SE million milers are able to bump other people not only out of J, but right off the flight if it's full. And with a f...

What is the active employement (pilot side) since yesterday? If I'm not mistaken, that is not really good for the TS pilot group.....Maintaining active employment at the level of April 28, 2021.

Re: 79 Airplanes Retired
By the way, yes it's 79 planes going out but..... - EMB190 are all out at this time.(beginning of May) - CEO said 319s and 767 will be out in time...... so not tomorrow not necessarily next week....but in time..... Next equipment bid will surely reflect the removal of those 79 planes. Do not forget ...

Re: 737 Cancellations
We got 24 planes on property, which as I understand it, are property of AC. We have 26 left to be delivered....so these ones could technically be CNX. I don't think Boeing would retake planes already delivered unless a deal as been made behind the door. As per Boeing list of March 31st, 2020 http://...

Re: Boeing Update, for Air Canada Pilots — News and Views
May I add that we have between 6-8 planes on the line that are being built at this time. Those will have the wiring modification done. So as soon as we're clear to fly, it will be these ones flying this summer. Also, we're getting more ETOPS fins, total on the fleet should be 25 planes.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
Again, 15% of your roster coming in isn't going to halt career expectations. Unfortunately, yes it will, since most of these guys will want YUL as a base. Maybe a small number will want to stay in YYZ. As of now, YVR is mostly protected from the integration. There is so many pilots (roughly 2800ish...

Re: Cold Weather Corrected Missed Approach Altitude
The civilian rules are pretty vague. It only states that in conditions of “extreme” cold temperature, all altitudes should be corrected. What about in not “extreme” cold temperature but below 0? Where is the transition to “extreme”? The military rules are more definitive. Read page 183 of the GPH20...

Re: 737MAX pilot career progression?
First question - No..... recency training have been ongoing since the grounding. Reasoning behind keeping guys on the plane is once the return to service, you want those planes as quickly as you can back in the air. Second question - Yes & No..... no new training as been done since the grounding of ...

No reduction in sight on the MAX.... don't know who comes up with ideas like that. Once the RTS is completed, the MAX is going to be one the safest plane to fly (watch the marketing) after all the overwatch over it's recert. If you think AC will pay for any of it's maintenance for the next few decad...

Why should I let you in my house without compromise. I'm sorry but if this transaction comes to fruition, there will need to be compromised from both sides. Why should I let you come in my house and let you make all the gains and me loose all that I have work for...sorry.

Just started a course a week ago, we (read AC) hired the #2 A220 Test Pilot from Bombardier. He mentioned that AC bought the 300 ETOPS (whole fleet). We also picked alot of interesting features that comes as options on the aircraft. This is all related to when Murray took office, ie HUD equipped air...

Maybe. Just maybe. If this industry wasn't 5hit, less ppl would complain. But, here we are. Well....are AC pilots paid 5hit..... Let me fix that for you. Well... AC pilots are 5hit... And before some bent "pole jockey" AC pilot says I'm a pfo reject, nope. Never app'd to that disaster of a place. I...

I use this one: http://www.flightoutfitters.com/flight-level Light and well built... been using since a couple of years and it's holding up pretty well. I've seen guys using the Briggs & Riley also. Like mentioned above, a bit on the pricey side but you can't pass on a lifetime warranty! :D Definite...

Did my CPL-Multi IFR in 2000 in YQB, just after finishing university. Then joined RCAF in 2004 because of disappointment of the state of third level aviation company. If I recall, ended up costing me around 45k at that time. Count on that an Multi-IFR renewal.....approx 5k. Now I've heard 65-70k and...

Yep! Citizen Skyhawk AT with the Time keeping option. Flew over the world, haven't seen a much easier watch to setup to a new time zone so quickly! Have it since 2007. If I ever change it, it will be for the new Citizen Eco-Drive Satellite Wave-Air.
